Second Feature: Green Acres: S2 E8 – Eb Discovers The Birds And The Bees
Eb makes a fool of himself at the general store when he lays eyes on Betty Jo Bradley. Wanting to ask her on a date but lost as to how to proceed, Eb seeks advice from the Douglases. To paint the hapless farmhand the right picture of courtship, Oliver describes the time he first met Lisa on the deck of a ship crossing the Atlantic. The quality of the advice Oliver offers is mixed at best, and Eb worsens matters by hilariously misconstruing Oliver’s recommendations. Fortunately, the romance progresses in spite of Oliver and Eb’s shortcomings, and Oliver even teaches Eb how to cut-a-rug in preparation for the big date. The episode features hilarious and delightful flashbacks of Oliver and Lisa’s own relationship, including their first date at the swanky “Lichtenstein Luau” in New York, and a dream sequence with Eb and Betty Jo reimagined as a multi-talented dancing duo.
