Alright, night owls — July’s rolled in, and we’re back on the long highway with another countdown. The static’s low, the signal’s strong enough, and the night’s just getting started.
This one kicked off back in mid-June: Rolling Stone 200 Greatest Country Songs of All Time. And unlike their ’80s list — which went a little too deep into the forgotten crates (Prince’s “Kiss” at number one? Really?) — this list actually knows the road it’s on.
Now, here’s the hitch: I had full access… until I didn’t. The paywall slammed down like a diner closing at midnight. I could subscribe. But I won’t. So if a few tracks along the way are a little fuzzy — blame it on memory, not the music.
We started this ride in June. We’re not taking the exit ‘til we hit number one.
