Second Feature: Green Acres: S2 E9 – The Hooterville Image
Oliver always delights over his freshly pressed shirts and clean laundry. But at the general store, the locals complain that Oliver’s penchant for wearing business suits while farming is ruining Hooterville’s image. In an effort to persuade him to wear standard overalls instead, the townspeople dress in their best suits to demonstrate just how ridiculous it looks. At first, Oliver protests, claiming that it is a man’s right to wear what he wishes, but he finally concedes in the end when Mr. Kimball threatens his invitation to the Fourth of July picnic. As usual, the last laugh is on Oliver when Lisa has had her dressmaker design him some custom overalls…out of Italian silk and mink! But Oliver’s sense of farmhand fashion might have made a lasting impression after all.
