Second Feature: Green Acres: S2 E13 – An Old Fashioned Christmas
Remembering back to Christmases in New York, Oliver and Lisa go shopping for a tree. Back in the present in Hooterville, the weather is unseasonably warm, but Oliver is still excited to have a farm where he can cut down his own authentic, farm-grown tree. But that’s before he learns that no one in Hooterville is as traditional as he assumed. In fact, down at the general store, Mr. Drucker is selling plastic trees complete with imitation sap, artificial pine scent and fiberglass candy canes. When Oliver finds out that he needs a “chopping permit” to cut down his own tree, the townsfolk muster their forces to block Oliver’s efforts. Meanwhile, Lisa tries to make a holiday fruitcake…with disastrous results. But when word gets around that the Douglases are having an old-fashioned Christmas, everyone shows up to get their share of the holiday cheer….and Lisa even manages some to create some Christmas magic.
