Watch Live: President Moron Lies to the Press

Press release from Planet Delusion: Resident Moron posted on “Lies Social” that he’s holding a D.C. presser this morning to rant about “one of the most dangerous cities anywhere in the world.”

I did a little research on “crime” rates, and it appears that D.C., has one of the lowest crime rates overall in the United States.

A chart; Safe and Sound Security (yeah, it’s a sales site, but I have more official data for later–this one just had a chart).

I asked ChatGPT for help, as google is absolute trash as they try and balance AI help with just giving me a list of hits that hit after my keyword searches.

ChatGPT provided this Axios story from June 17th, 2025:

Overall crime is down in the DMV by 13% this year over last, per a first-of-its-kind regional dashboard launched last week.

Why it matters: The new crime tracker is the first unified, real-time database for greater Washington and aims to give leaders and residents timely, actionable reports to create safer communities.

Driving the news: Crime dropped in every major category, from homicide to vehicle theft, across the DMV in the first four months of 2025, compared to the same stretch last year.

  • Created by the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments (COG), the public dashboard aggregates and displays crime data from 24 local jurisdictions in D.C., Maryland and Virginia.

The crime tracker linked by Axios takes you MWCOG.org (Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments). I just found this site this morning, so I’ve only skimmed the data the dashboard provides.

It’s interactive—you can click the tabs to see crimes broken down by offense, or view data for the entire area. The chart above shows total offenses.

Reminder: crime data should always be taken with a hefty grain (or bag) of salt. It often lags, not all police departments submit their stats nationally, and not everyone reports a crime. For example, if you catch your son stealing money from you, you’re unlikely to report it. Likewise, rape and domestic violence are frequently underreported for a variety of reasons.

This morning from “Lies Social”.

Multiple sources are reporting the big announcement today is that President Want’s to be Putin so badly will be calling up the D.C., National Guard to stand around and help local law enforcement to make D.C., safe again.

The U.S. military is preparing to activate National Guard troops in Washington, D.C., as part of President Trump’s crackdown on street crime in the city, a Defense Department official said on Monday.

Mr. Trump had not approved any official deployment orders as of early Monday. But he is expected to announce at a news conference at the White House that up to several hundred District of Columbia National Guardsmen will be sent to support law enforcement officers in the capital, the Defense Department official said, speaking on the condition of anonymity to discuss operational matters. No other details were available early Monday.

[snip]

The National Guard troops, whose possible activation was previously reported by Reuters, would probably not have arrest authorities. Instead, they would support law enforcement officials or free them up to carry out patrol duties, the Defense Department official said.

The Trump administration also plans to temporarily reassign 120 F.B.I. agents in Washington to nighttime patrol duties as part of Mr. Trump’s crackdown, according to people familiar with the matter. Most of the agents will be pulled from their regular duties at the F.B.I.’s Washington field office, the people said, speaking on the condition of anonymity to describe details of an effort that were not meant to be public.

New York Times. 08/11/2025.

This is my hot take.

President Abuser of Gold doesn’t give a fuck about “crime” — he cares about not having to look at anything he deems “ugly.” Clearing out protesters from the White House’s sightline? Bonus points. Because if there’s one thing he hates more than “ugly,” it’s being reminded that a whole lot of people despise him. Oh, and let’s not pretend this isn’t a convenient smoke bomb to distract from #EpsteinFileGate and his dumpster-fire economic record. Also, this is yet another test balloon to see how much “new normal” authoritarian bullshit “We the People” are willing to swallow. Will we actually stand up to the wannabe dictator, or just shuffle along pretending it’s fine because it’s easier than growing a spine?

On Sunday he said the presser would be in the Press Briefing Room at 10:00 AM D.C., time:
