USA TODAY (09/03/2025):
Some victims of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein are set to speak at a press conference on Wednesday, Sept. 3, at the Capitol. The bipartisan event is organized by Reps. Ro Khanna, D-California, and Thomas Massie, R-Kentucky, who predict it will be “explosive.”
The press conference will feature ten women, some of whom have never spoken publicly before, Khanna told NBC’s Meet the Press.
“They will be telling their story and they will be saying clearly to the American public that they want the release of the Epstein files for full closure on this matter,” Khanna said on Sunday, Aug. 31.

Yesterday, Republican Rep. Thomas Massie (KY) along with Democratic Rep. Ro Khanna filed a discharge petition:

Currently, there are 134 signatures, they need 218. Democratic members of the House, have said they will sign the petition. Four Republicans have signed on so far.
But some Republicans are being cowards…

If all Dems sign on, backers only need two more Republicans to get on board. But the path to 218 looks tricky
IN THE GOP MEETING — @SpeakerJohnson laid out a number of similarities between the Epstein discharge petition and what oversight is doing in its probe. Johnson is against the discharge and is trying to kill it.

Norman also says he’s heard from the White House, who view it as a back-handed slap to Trump since Massie is leading it, but insists they didn’t try to pressure him.
