Executive Time
Executive Time was the usual mix of legal tantrums, weird family tree bragging, and foreign policy chain-email energy.
I’m only sharing one of the court filing posts because nobody needs four versions of the same filing. The ballroom nobody asked for has now apparently been elevated to a matter of national security, complete with “Trump Derangement Syndrome,” complaints about the National Trust for Historic Preservation, and a random “Barack Hussein Obama” mention for dramatic effect.

I found the court filing via Storage Courtlistener: DEFENDANTS’ RULE 62.1 MOTION FOR AN INDICATIVE RULING DISSOLVING THE COURT’S INJUNCTION.
It’s nine pages. This is page 1 from the pdf:
“The National Trust for Historic Preservation” is a beautiful name, but even that name is fake. By adding the words “in the United States,” it creates the impression that it is a government agency, which it is not. In fact, the United States stopped funding it in 2005 because officials strongly disagreed with its mission and objectives.
They are very bad for our country. They block many worthwhile projects and damage many others. In this case, they are trying to stop one that is vital to our national security and to the safety of all Presidents of the United States, both current and future, along with their families, staff, and Cabinet members.
They were asked by the United States military not to bring this suit because of the top secret nature of the facility being built. They were shown detailed plans and specifications of this knitted, unified, and cohesive structure by top officers and leaders in both the military and Secret Service. But this did not deter them because they suffer from Trump Derangement Syndrome, commonly referred to as TDS, as noted by Democrat Senator John Fetterman, of Pennsylvania, and are represented by the lawyer for Barack Hussein Obama, Gregory Craig.
The lower section of the building does not work without the upper section and, likewise, the upper section of the building does not work without the lower.

The Acting Attorney General for the DOJ sent the National Trust a letter:
This lawsuit is on behalf of a single person who walks in the vicinity of the White House once a month and expects to dislike the East Wing’s new design. The passing aesthetic gripe of a single person cannot possibly justify delaying the construction of a secure facility for the…

The rest of the tweet says: for the President to do his job.
The letter:

The National Trust responded to the letter.
The National Trust for Historic Preservation will continue its legal challenge to President Trump’s planned ballroom, rejecting a DOJ demand to drop the case because of the shooting this weekend at the White House correspondents’ dinner. https://t.co/2SDzFDevg7

Their letter via the Washington Post article:

This letter and lawsuit explain how come Senator Republicans held a dumb presser to talk about getting the ballroom funded.
Lindsey Graham: "If you don't think $400m of taxpayer is a good investment to create a secure facility at the White House … the number one job of national security would be to protect the commander in chief, and to have infrastructure under the ballroom that is very national… pic.twitter.com/vpwKPVEABP

The article nobody is gonna read is just another push for the ballroom.

He’s the King’s cousin:

The article is paywalled.

Speaking of Oil…
This morning the UAE announced: UAE announces decision to withdraw from Opec, Opec+ from May 1 (Khaleej Times):
Long-term growth despite volatility
In its announcement, the UAE said that while near-term volatility — including disruptions in the Arabian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz — affect the supply dynamics, underlying trends point to sustained growth in global energy demand in the long term.
The nation said that it has invested to meet evolving demand efficiently and responsibly, prioritising stability, affordability, and sustainability — the pillars upon which a global energy system depends.
Khaleej Times. 04/28/2026.
Why it left Opec
The UAE joined Opec in 1967 through Abu Dhabi and continued its membership after the formation of the United Arab Emirates in 1971.
Throughout this period, it has played an active role in supporting global oil market stability and strengthening dialogue among producing nations.
The decision to leave, however, reflects a policy-driven change in the nation’s approach, increasing flexibility to respond to market dynamics while continuing to contribute to stability in a measured and responsible manner.
It also reflects the UAE’s long-term strategic and economic vision and changing energy profile, including higher investment in domestic energy production.

My Time…
I was always going to cover the Jimmy Kimmel dust-up, I just figured it would be its own post later instead of getting added to this already overstuffed one.
But since chaos refuses to wait its turn, we’re doing it now. So despite this post already being late and long enough to qualify as a small novel, here we are.
The First Lady (04/27/2026):
Kimmel’s hateful and violent rhetoric is intended to divide our country. His monologue about my family isn’t comedy- his words are corrosive and deepens the political sickness within America.
— First Lady Melania Trump (@FLOTUS) April 27, 2026
People like Kimmel shouldn’t have the opportunity to enter our homes each evening to…
The rest of the tweet says: People like Kimmel shouldn’t have the opportunity to enter our homes each evening to spread hate. A coward, Kimmel hides behind ABC because he knows the network will keep running cover to protect him. Enough is enough. It is time for ABC to take a stand. How many times will ABC’s leadership enable Kimmel’s atrocious behavior at the expense of our community.
Thursday Night:
Jimmy Kimmel:
That’s right. We miss you so much. And of course, our first lady, Melania, is here. Look at so beautiful. Mrs. Trump, you have a glow like an expectant widow.
You know, Melania’s birthday is on Sunday. That’s right. She’s uh planning to celebrate at home the same way she always does, looking out a window and whispering, “What have I done?”
As you’re all aware, Melania is a movie star now. Her documentary had a score of 10% on Rotten Tomatoes, which is a website named after her husband’s testicles.
And I want to congratulate you, Madam First Lady, on your huge accomplishment. The world’s first motionless picture. And that Oh, by the way, before we go any further, Melania, this is Donald. Donald, this is Melania. That was my impression of Jeffrey Epstein.
Jimmy Kimmel Live YouTube shitty auto transcript. 04/23/2026.
“you have a glow like an expectant widow“.
It’s that line that is apparently “hateful and violent”.
The thinnest skinned man in the world:

The video of Melania and Barron was not “fake” it was clipped from this years State of the Union.
Last night Kimmel defended himself and free speech.
Marc Beckman a “senior” adviser to Melania was asked about Kimmel’s defense of his remarks from Thursday.
No he shouldn't.
— Ann-Tiff-A (@NewsiesNeighbor) April 28, 2026
Free Speech means just that, the government has no business involved in this shit.
Like before it seems the FCC is gonna try and push Disney to fire Kimmel.
Stand by for news…
— Brian Stelter (@brianstelter) April 28, 2026
The FCC is preparing to "call in all of the TV station licenses for Disney/ABC for early renewal," a source familiar with the matter said, confirming Semafor's scoop from earlier this morning. It will be viewed as government retaliation for keeping Kimmel's show on the air.
— Brian Stelter (@brianstelter) April 28, 2026
The FCC hadn't taken this type of early-renewal action in decades… although, strangely enough, the agency just filed an early-renewal order yesterday against a small station license holder called Bridge News. https://t.co/grx2J9FeXq
— Brian Stelter (@brianstelter) April 28, 2026
I'll be refreshing the FCC website today to see if the orders come through. ABC has many legal defenses, and its licenses are likely not in any real jeopardy. But it calls to mind the title of Malcolm Feeley's 1979 book about the legal system: "The Process Is the Punishment."
— Brian Stelter (@brianstelter) April 28, 2026
Stelter appeared on CNN shortly after his tweets were posted:
He does point out in the clip that ABC and Disney would likely win in court, but only if they are willing to fight against this admin.
