It’s Monday…

Shitshow’s public schedule for…

Since the schedule provides exactly zero details about the executive orders being signed behind closed doors today, the White House decided to post a teaser.

The rest of the tweet says: And by Q we mean Quantum. Stay tuned👀

The White House isn’t saying whether the teaser is connected to this afternoon’s signing event. However, Nextgov/FCW reported this morning that Puddle is expected to sign an executive order related to quantum security sometime this week.

According to Nextgov/FCW (06/22/2026):

“A pending executive order expected this week will task the FBI and intelligence community with better protecting the nation’s quantum research from foreign spying, according to four people familiar with the matter and a readout viewed by Nextgov/FCW.”

[snip]

Two of the people said the order may be ready as soon as Monday, while one of the people said two quantum-related orders could be signed, with one targeting the broader quantum information sciences and technology research enterprise and the other bolstering post-quantum cryptography migration efforts

The order with counterintelligence directives would also task the Energy and Defense departments to build and host a quantum computer for scientific research. Additionally, the Commerce Department would be told to draft plans for expanding federal investment in quantum computing companies, as Nextgov/FCW previously reported.

What in Feud?

Puddle appears determined to keep his feud with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni alive.

On June 20th, he complained about Meloni, her popularity, and Italy’s refusal to allow U.S. bases in the country to be used for strikes on Iran.

Meloni responded by suggesting he spend less time worrying about her poll numbers and more time worrying about his own.

Apparently, that advice was not taken.

The following day, Puddle took another swipe at Meloni while revisiting his grievances over NATO spending and Italy’s position on Iran.

We were allowed to use Italy’s airstrips to stage military personnel. We were not allowed to use them to launch strikes on Iran.

Between Iran and the latest chapter of As the Reflecting Pool Drama Turns, there’s plenty left to cover. Unfortunately, I’ve had about two hours of sleep, so those stories will have to wait for another day.
