Today’s field trip takes Puddle to General Motors’ Milford Proving Ground in Michigan where he’ll tour the facility before returning to the White House to deliver remarks. Conveniently enough, he’s heading to an auto testing facility on the same day Americans are being reminded they can barely afford new cars anymore.

President Donald Trump plans to tout his handling of the economy during a visit to suburban Detroit on Monday, defending sweeping tariffs in a swing state where their effects have hurt many businesses as midterm election season heats up.
Trump is visiting a General Motors facility in Milford, home to tracks and proving grounds for new models and vehicles. Early voting is underway for Michigan’s Aug. 4 primary, which features fierce nomination fights in both major political parties.
Republican Mike Rogers is unopposed in the Senate primary, but the GOP gubernatorial contest pits Trump-backed Rep. John James against Perry Johnson, a businessman turned politician who has launched unsuccessful campaigns before, including for president in 2024.
Johnson is now trying to style himself in the president’s mold — despite missing out on his endorsement. He’s even holding a “Trump Tailgate” outside the president’s GM event.

The suit was filed by the Liberty Justice Center, the same organization that challenged Trump’s tariffs enacted under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act last year and won a major ruling against the government at the Supreme Court.
The center is suing the Trump administration on behalf of two small businesses: New York-based Burlap & Barrel, an online spices retailer, and California-based Collective Horology, a retailer that Liberty Justice says supports independent watchmakers.
Filed in the Court of International Trade in New York, the suit seeks to stop the government from enforcing or collecting duties imposed under Section 301 of the Trade Act of 1974.
The filing also asks the trade court to refund all duties unlawfully collected under the Section 301 action.

New car prices are averaging close $50,000, and recent data shows near 10% of car buyers who take out loans for their vehicles are paying more than $1,000 monthly for their vehicles.
Consumers paid an average of $49,758 for new cars in June, according to Cox Automotive’s Kelley Blue Book. The average June price for new cars was up 0.4% from May’s average of $49,220, and up 0.6% over May 2025’s average of $48,907, according to the group.
Meanwhile, new data from Lending Tree shows 9.6% of Americans with active auto loans had at least one monthly payment of $1,000 or more. That’s also up from 8.6% last year. Lending Tree said a $1,000 car payment is the equivalent to 14% of the median household monthly income of $7,147.

Dylan Mulvaney cost Bud Light $35 billion in market cap. That was the worst commercial ever made, by the way, for those few people that want to hear that. Most people don’t care, but I would. I wouldn’t want to hire Dylan anytime soon. Think of it. They hired Dylan Mulvaney and their market cap has gone down by $35 billion.

We have absolutely dropped the ball, me included, by not calling this out enough. Puddle is nuts. He is unfit for office. He’s always been unfit, but Puddle 2.0 is worse. Sanewashing this or ignoring it is a mistake. I’ll try harder to point out just how unhinged Puddle has become. Almost as bad as Puddle’s unhingedness are the people enabling it by pretending this is fucking normal.
