Before Puddle countered Iran’s demand for compensation, he shared another article link.
The article‘s focus is on US Senate Democratic Candidate Josh Turek. He has reportedly missed 261 votes in the state House during the first several months of 2026 because he was campaigning.
Turek is up against Republican Iowa Rep. Ashley Hinson. The pair hope to replace retiring Senator Joni Ernst.
While Googling Turek’s absences from important votes, I discovered this from American Journal.com (07/14/2026):
Iowa Rep. Ashley Hinson missed pivotal House votes because she was busy fundraising for her U.S. Senate campaign.
On June 24, the House Appropriations Committee voted on 11 amendments to the 2027 Defense Appropriations bill, which will fund the Pentagon and related defense programs in the next fiscal year. Hinson, who sits on the committee, missed seven of the votes.
An email from Grand Valley Consulting, which advises Republican candidates, indicates that Hinson had a fundraising lunch with West Virginia Sen. Shelly Moore Capito scheduled for the same day. Tickets for the event ranged from $1,000 to $2,500.

Hinson did miss far fewer votes than Turek.
My point is, the party that has U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell at home recovering from a fall in June and Tom Kean Jr., who was absent from voting while he dealt with depression, might want to sit this one out.

After reminding people that our aging politicians and campaign hopefuls miss important votes, Puddle posted an image of himself.
An hour after he stomped his thumbs at Iran, he added that beyond compensating the United States, Iran should compensate other countries, too.

A Syrian court sentenced ousted Syrian President Bashar Assad along with his younger brother to death in absentia on Tuesday for crimes against humanity and war crimes during Syria’s 14-year conflict that left about half a million people dead.
The sentences at the Fourth Criminal Court in Damascus are the first against Assad or members of his inner circle since the Assad family’s five decades in power came to an end 20 months ago.
“Bashar Assad used state agencies to commit war crimes and crimes against humanity,” said judge Fakhareddine al-Aryan during a court session that was aired live on state TV.
Also sentenced to death was Assad’s maternal cousin Atef Najib, who was convicted of overseeing a crackdown in the southern province of Daraa that led to the uprising and later the civil war. Al-Aryan said Najib can appeal.

He went on to post some weird anti-Abdul-for-Senate meme, a recycled photo with new text, and a racist meme.
He finished his Monday by supporting FIFA President Gianni Infantino, celebrating the news that Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito isn’t retiring, and sharing a four-plus-minute video of Fox Entertainment’s Laura Ingraham interviewing Tom “I take bribes” Homan.

President Donald Trump leapt to the defense of FIFA chief Gianni Infantino on Monday, as the head of world soccer’s governing body faces pressure to resign following a failed attempt to sell stakes in the World Cup to private investors.

Today, Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani and Department of Finance (DOF) Commissioner Richard Lee began notifying property owners that they may be subject to the new “pied-à-terre” tax via mail. This marks the first step in implementing the tax – proposed in partnership with Governor Kathy Hochul and the State of New York – which applies to one- to three-family homes, condominiums, and co-ops when owners have a separate primary residence.
To support property owners throughout the process, DOF has launched a dedicated webpage (nyc.gov/npsurcharge) featuring frequently asked questions, an eligibility tool, detailed guidance, and instructions for submitting documentation. The administration also funded 13 additional positions within DOF to implement the program and assist property owners and 11 additional staff positions at the Office of Administrative Tax Appeals (OATA) to support the administration of the surcharge.
The “pied-à-terre” tax was first announced alongside Governor Hochul this past April, as part of the Mayor’s efforts to close a historic budget gap without slashing essential services or offsetting the cost onto working New Yorkers.

The surcharge applies to certain properties in New York City that are not used as a primary residence. For property tax years 2026-27 and 2027-28, the surcharge may apply to:
- One-, two-, and three-family homes valued by DOF at more than $5 million
- Condominium and cooperative units valued by DOF at $1 million or more
The surcharge will generally not apply if the property is used as a primary residence by the owner, a tenant or immediate family member of the owner, or one or more individuals with a majority interest in an entity that owns the property.
The Department of Finance published a supplemental market value roll on July 24, 2026, related to the annual non-primary residence property surcharge. A judge on Staten Island granted a temporary restraining order on the pied-à-terre tax on Monday, pausing enforcement while a lawsuit brought by a group of homeowners moves forward.
The pause did not last long, however, as the city filed court papers to appeal the ruling, a move that blocks the judge’s order from going into effect until there is a resolution to the appeal.
“Since leaving office, Mr. Mastro has already sued the city five times. We disagree with today’s ruling, but we are confident in both the pied-à-terre surcharge and the City’s ability to implement it fairly and effectively,” said a spokesperson for Mayor Zohran Mamdani. “The Law Department will appeal the ruling immediately which will stay the order, and the City will continue with the pied-a-terre’s implementation.”

New Yorkers are increasingly leaving the state, one of many troubling trends exposed in a new study from the Citizens Budget Commission.
The study released Monday found that, statewide, population growth has completely stagnated. In 2025, the state gained a net 1,000 residents, compared to 215,000 the year before.

Between 2019 and 2023, nearly 1.2 million people moved from New York City to other areas in the state. Most in-state movers headed to surrounding suburban areas, like Westchester County and Long Island.

Some dumbass was interviewing Puddle by phone and urged him to declare a national emergency for the midterms because Congress has failed to pass the SAVE Act.
FYI: A President does not have the power to halt, pause, or ignore federal elections by declaring a national emergency. I know, Puddle isn’t constrained by our laws or the Constitution. I just want people to know they float this bullshit to scare people into staying home.
Don’t let them win. Vote.
Puddle signed an Executive Order on Monday that tries to set the “gold standard” for childhood vaccine schedules.
This doctor appeared on CNBC News to explain that the EO doesn’t appear to have any legal enforcement mechanism and is basically just an ask for states to adopt it.
Having skimmed through the EO, I agree with the doctor. It doesn’t seem that this EO does much beyond “recommend” that people do mostly what they already do.
In short this is one of those EO’s that pander to Puddle’s supporters.
In sad news. The beloved bald eagle from Bear Valley, 14 year old Jackie, has passed away after falling ill a month or so ago. Friends of Bear Valley media manager Jennifer Voisard told Fox channel 11, that Jackie’s death was not related to the fight she had with sub-adults. She had been losing weight and was already weak and likely would have flown off into the woods in order to pass away out of view.
As sad as the news is, there is some comfort in knowing what happened to Jackie. Had she been well enough to fly off into the woods, the people who have watched and loved her for years might never have known what happened to her.
Instead, they get to say goodbye.
As for her mate Shadow, FOBBV says it’s possible that he will find a mate when mating season rolls back around.
