Yesterday, the husband tagged me in a tiktok video.

Normally, Mr. Global posts specifically about the oil and gas industry; that’s his industry so it’s his wheel house. Lately, he’s been branching out to cover news. In the video he talks about President Can be Bought’s pardon of tax cheat Paul Walczak after his mother attended a $1-million-per-person-fund-raising dinner at Mar-a-Lardo.

According to the New York Times (gift link) she didn’t just attend the dinner, she; raised millions of dollars for Mr. Trump’s campaigns and those of other Republicans, the application said. It also highlighted her connections to an effort to sabotage Joseph R. Biden Jr.’s 2020 campaign by publicizing the addiction diary of his daughter Ashley Biden — an episode that drew law enforcement scrutiny.

In the Mr. Global Tiktok he says the thing being missed or not discussed enough as it relates to the pardon or pardons of President Bought and Paid For, is how these pardons absolve the person from having to pay any restitution.

Find Law says this about restitution and the Presidential Pardon; The president may remit a fine or order to pay restitution. If the president does so, the offender does not need to pay the remaining fine or restitution. It also applies to forfeitures.

In my googles, I also found a memo from Biotech.law from June 1995; the memo is amazing in that time capsule way things from the past often hold. But it does say that a full and unconditional pardon, can remove the pardon person’s requirement to pay any monies owed to someone, the President can say the pardon has conditions, or if the victim has already received payment the pardon unconditional or not can’t take the payment back.

Back to the New York Times and Paul Walczak’s pardon.

It [the pardon] came just in the nick of time for Mr. Walczak, sparing him from having to pay nearly $4.4 million in restitution and from reporting to prison for an 18-month sentence that had been handed down just 12 days earlier. A judge had justified the incarceration by declaring that there “is not a get-out-of-jail-free card” for the rich.

[snip]

Mr. Walczak, 55, joined his mother’s nursing home business after dropping out of college, eventually becoming chief executive. After she sold the company in 2007, they invested $18 million in a new nursing home venture based in South Florida, where they lived a luxurious lifestyle.

By 2011, prosecutors said, Mr. Walczak had stopped paying employment taxes.

Between 2016 and 2019, they said, he withheld more than $10 million from the paychecks of the nurses, doctors and others who worked at his facilities under the pretext of using it for their Social Security, Medicare and federal income taxes. Instead, he used some of the money to buy a $2 million yacht and to pay for travel and purchases at high-end retailers, including Bergdorf Goodman and Cartier, prosecutors said.

He was charged in February 2023 with 13 counts of tax crimes.

By the time he pleaded guilty to two of the counts and agreed to pay the restitution on Nov. 15, 2024, Mr. Trump had been elected for a second term in the White House.

The second thing I want to talk about is immigration. I know, it’s almost all that’s being talked about; sort of, but to me the stories of the people effected by Nazi Miller’s policies matter.

Last night, I stumbled across this tweet…

Show more =’s a link to the story.

Stlpr.org (npr) 05/24/2025:

Carol Mayorga sat at a small table inside the Greene County Jail in Springfield, Missouri, on Wednesday morning. She appeared on screen via the jail’s video visitation service, wearing a muted green jumpsuit, her eyeglasses framed by her black hair.

Mayorga, whose legal name is Ming Li Hui, has been detained in jail under U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement custody since late April. She’d traveled from Kennett, Missouri, her home for nearly two decades, to St. Louis for what she thought was a routine meeting to renew her employment authorization document.

The document, issued by the federal government, allows her to work legally in the U.S. and is set to expire in January 2026.

Stlpr.org (npr) 05/24/2025.

That’s the background of the case, the story moves back to Mayorga’s home town in Kennett, Missouri:

Back in Kennett, Mayorga’s arrest shook the town of around 10,000 people, where she works at John’s Waffle & Pancake House. The jail is more than four hours west of her home in Kennett, in the deeply Republican southeast corner of the state known as the Bootheel.

Residents of the town desperately want her back.

In interviews with the Midwest Newsroom, dozens of Kennett neighbors described her as a “hard worker” who held several jobs to support her family.

Others know her from soccer and baseball games, where her children played on local teams, or as a chatty mom who loved to catch up at the town’s Walmart and at school events.

They grappled with the possibility that their favorite server, friend and fellow parent might never be home again.

“If you’re looking for a model citizen — she works hard, she takes care of her kids, she makes sure they have everything they need,” said Lisa Dry, a city council member who said she’s known Mayorga since 2020. “I mean, to me, that’s the kind of citizen we want here.”

Stlpr.org (npr) 05/24/2025.

Three weeks after her arrest, at the appointment to renew her work documents; it’s become common for Nazi Miller’s ICE, to arrest folks showing up to their regular immigration appointments, residents in her hometown gathered to hold a fundraising event for her legal fees and to help with her three kids.

As you likely guessed this town like many in Missouri supported President Shittiest Man Alive for President in 2024.

Cars and trucks filled the tight parking lot at John’s and nearby businesses’ open spots from 6 a.m. until 2 p.m. Some vehicles had “Trump 2024” bumper stickers displaying Trump’s campaign slogan “Take America Back.”

The rattle of silverware, sizzle of the grill and conversations among customers bounced through the restaurant as seats filled and stayed that way until close. John’s cozily seats roughly 30 patrons at a time.

Servers greeted most customers with a hug and small talk before handing out devices that buzzed when a seat opened up at the diner. Some waited hours for a seat.

Conversations struck a defiant tone. Customers said that they were there to support their friend and that they wanted her back home.

For many who gathered at John’s that morning, Mayorga’s detainment was a step too far by the Trump administration, an administration many at the restaurant say they voted for and support.

“Ninety-five percent of the people in here support Trump — I do, too — but this is wrong,” said Bud Garrison, a daily customer at John’s.

This morning, I saw a story shared by one of my favorite Aaron’s…

The article was not paywalled for me.

I’m gonna skip some background on the 4-year-old’s condition, and zoom-in on what’s happening now.

Vargas had read about children similar to her daughter going on to have normal lives in other countries. In Mexico, her daughter was being kept alive — but at 2, her condition had not improved.

So when Vargas learned that the Biden administration had begun offering migrants appointments with border agents through a phone application called CBP One, she signed up. Those let in received two-year protection from deportation and work permits.

With the appointment set for July 31, 2023, Vargas and her family set out for Tijuana two days earlier. She carefully carried her daughter out of the hospital, her nutrition bags still connected intravenously.

Her husband told agents that he had once been kidnapped by cartel members in Mexico who extorted money and threatened to kill him. They also looked at the girl, whose vulnerable condition was obvious.

“God knew she needed better treatment,” Vargas said. “When we got to the entrance, they saw her and asked us if we needed medical help.”

By that afternoon, the family had been whisked to Rady Children’s Hospital-San Diego.

LA Times. 05/27/2025.

They relocated to my hometown in September of 2024. In April Nazi Miller’s Immigration department sent a notice that the girl and her family had to leave the country. A doctor caring for S.G.V., in a letter said that if her treatment is interrupted she could be dead in days.

I admit, I am not objective; my daughter is alive today because we had great insurance and received great care. I can’t imagine what it would be like to be told after your daughters condition has stabilized, you now have to pick up sticks and go back to a place where your child will likely die.

All of these people are usually treated as low priorities for deportation because they are contributing to our society, but because Nazi Miller is a Nazi and they lied about immigration for years, they are now using tools to deport people to make good on a promise to deport “20 million” people let in under the Biden admin.

Axios (05/28/2025):

In a tense meeting last week, top Trump aide Stephen Miller and Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem demanded that immigration agents seek to arrest 3,000 people a day, according to two sources familiar with the meeting.

Why it matters: The new target is triple the number of daily arrests that agents were making in the early days of Trump’s term — and suggests the president’s top immigration officials are full-steam ahead in pushing for mass deportations.

Axios (05/28/2025).

The big picture:

See?

This is how we know they’ve been lying about their goals to deport just “illegals” and the “bad guys”, that’s not what this is about. This is about fueling their White Nationalism bullshit wet dreams. This is about trying to show they were right when they said we’d been overrun.

Deporting a woman raising her three kids and paying taxes in Missouri and deporting a sick child, just to “own the libs” will never “Make America Great Again”, it will and has simply made us the bad guys.
