TNB Night Owl: My Top 31 Soundtrack Movie Countdown!

Harry said men and women can’t be friends because the sex part always gets in the way. Sally proved you can fake it in the middle of a crowded diner—prompting one of the most iconic movie lines ever: “I’ll have what she’s having.”

This one’s on my list because my mom took me and my friend Kara to see it the summer between freshman and sophomore year. The film is charming, witty, and made me think about relationships in ways no teen rom-com ever had.

Years later, my friend Amanda said, “Hey, I didn’t know Harry Connick Jr. was a singer.” I just stared at her, went “Omg, listen to this,” and pulled out my When Harry Met Sally soundtrack.

From big band to standards, Harry Connick Jr. nailed every track—perfectly capturing the romance, nostalgia, and humor of the film.

I’ll be linking to each soundtrack’s Wikipedia page if you want to dig deeper, rediscover the track listings, or argue with your own memory of what played during that prom scene.

And don’t worry — this won’t be the last time we visit movie soundtracks. 🎶
