In today’s episode of As the Ego Turns, we’re recapping the latest fascist moves from President Fascist himself. Spoiler: it’s less “policy” and more “power grab,” because nothing feeds his ego quite like dismantling the Constitution in order to Make America “Great” Again.
Episode One:
Attempts to fire a Federal Reserve Governor, Lisa Cook.
The letter:
In a statement released through her lawyer on Monday evening, Ms. Cook said that “no cause exists under the law” for Mr. Trump to fire her.
“I will not resign,” she said. “I will continue to carry out my duties to help the American economy as I have been doing since 2022.”
Ms. Cook’s lawyer, Abbe Lowell, added: “We will take whatever actions are needed to prevent” her firing.
With Ms. Cook’s dismissal, Mr. Trump could effectively stand to gain a majority soon at the Fed, one composed of members he has appointed to the posts, with Mr. Powell’s term set to expire next year.

President Dictator gives zero fucks about the economy. This isn’t about policy, it’s about power. He wants the Federal Reserve turned into his own daytime drama cast — obedient side characters who’ll tank the economy on command just to keep the spotlight on him.

Tariffs are a tax — period. And we, the consumers, are the ones paying it. So every time President Dictator brags about the $4 trillion the CBO projects will be collected over the next 10 years, remember two things: one, suddenly they like the CBO again, and two, that “revenue” is just money siphoned straight out of our wallets.

Cracker Barrel dared change menu items and their logos. They did this, because they were losing money, they have been for some time. My theory is, just add some damn salt and pepper to your food and be done with it, but they had to try and modernize a failing business model. Because it was failing.

Cracker Barrel has defended its changes, saying its “All the More” campaign was meant to honor its legacy while bringing new energy to the brand.
“Our values haven’t changed, and the heart and soul of Cracker Barrel haven’t changed,” the company said.
The new logo—the fifth iteration in its history—is a callback to the original one with its barrel shape and word design. On Monday, Cracker Barrel said the dust-up over the past several days had shown how deeply people care about the chain.
“We could’ve done a better job sharing who we are and who we’ll always be,” Cracker Barrel said. “We know we won’t get everything right the first time, but we’ll keep testing, learning and listening to our guests and employees.”
