Second Feature: Green Acres: S2 E18 – Exodus To Bleedswell
A new factory with a large government defense contract is opening in nearby Bleedswell. Prepared to abandon Hooterville in favor of better paying jobs, the townsfolks are eager to apply at the factory. But Oliver discovers that Hooterville once had its own government contract, building airplanes for World War I. He figures that Hooterville must have enough skilled labor to open its own factory and save the town from a mass exodus of labor. As luck would have it, the government contract is still valid, and Oliver finds himself elected president of the newly re-established local plant. Of course, nothing goes according to plan, due in no small part to Hooterville’s quirky ways and quirkier residents. When a military general from Washington D.C. shows up to sort things out personally, the townsfolk mistake him for a foreign spy. Will the plant be a success…or one big bomb?
