Some protesters went on a march that took about 15 or 20 minutes, but some of us, stuck around the park, where I was able to see more signs.
The woman holding the peace sign, wearing a T-shirt that reads “Get in trouble, good trouble, necessary trouble”—a famous quote from the late Rep. John Lewis—made those signs herself. Kudos to her.

The little girl’s sign read, “I can’t believe I’ve been dealing with this sh!t my whole life.” As I walked away to grab more photos, she told me, “It used to say ‘I hate Trump,’ but Mom said that was bad, so we changed it to ‘I hate fascists.’” She even rolled her eyes—just a little—like only a kid negotiating protest politics with her mom could.
