It’s Monday…
Shitshow’s public schedule for…

Added to today’s schedule:
🚨I will hold a Press Briefing at 1PM ET today.
— Karoline Leavitt (@PressSec) April 27, 2026
I don’t have a subheader for this section of today’s blog post. Unless you’re a hermit, everyone reading this is aware that on Saturday there was a shooting incident at the Washington Hilton during the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, which involved the whisking away of the President, the Vice President, and several members of the cabinet. A suspect armed with multiple weapons reportedly rushed a security checkpoint near the ballroom before being stopped by Secret Service. One officer was injured, the suspect was taken into custody, and the annual nerd prom abruptly became an active crime scene.
During the presser that Puddle held after the incident, he wasted zero minutes pushing his vanity project, aka the ballroom.
President Trump says tonight’s shooting at the WHCD is a clear example of why we need a need a new ballroom for The White House pic.twitter.com/a6dzeH9nyB

Don the Builder: And, uh, I didn’t want to say this, but, uh, this is why we have to have all of the attributes of what we’re planning at the White House. It’s actually a larger room and it’s much more secure. It’s got, it’s drone proof, it’s bulletproof glass. We need the ballroom. That’s why Secret Service, that’s why the military are demanding it. They’ve wanted the ballroom for 150 years for lots of different reasons, but today’s a little bit different because today we need levels of security that probably nobody’s ever seen before.
He continued to push for the ballroom via “Lies Social”.

And just like that the usual suspects took up the talking point like it was their job.
Rep. Lauren “Bobblehead” Boebert (R-CO):
I’m working with my team to draft legislation ensuring the White House Ballroom is completed.
— Rep. Lauren Boebert (@RepBoebert) April 26, 2026
I don’t believe congressional approval is required for the project, but if it’ll keep activist judges on the sideline, so be it.
More to come this week.
Rep. Randy “I’m a Racist” Fine:
I am filing the “Build the Ballroom Act” to create explicit statutory authority for a White House Ballroom.
— Congressman Randy Fine (@RepFine) April 26, 2026
While the lawsuits attempting to stop this privately-funded gift to the country are nonsense, last night makes it clear that we need it — and we need it now.
I look…
The rest of the tweet says: I look forward to Democrats repudiating their violent rhetoric against President Trump by cosponsoring and supporting this bill. Mr. President, build away.
Rep. Chip “Big Mad” Roy (R-TX):
Any consideration of DHS reconciliation instructions this week & beyond should provide for construction of a secure ballroom on White House grounds – in addition to other concerns being addressed regarding ICE/CBP, SAVE America, Transgender & Abortion funding, Recon 3, & more.

Social media weren’t the only places the Republicans in power demanded the ballroom be built.
Mike Johnson: "The ballroom will be a solution for this. It'll have 7-inch thick glass, so it'll be a very safe environment to do events like that. We need a place like that and the president keeps pointing it out." pic.twitter.com/zWv0u8ybO8

Rick Scott: "Trying to stop a ballroom? This is Trump derangement syndrome." pic.twitter.com/L5sG0IKt9M

Rep. Mike Lawler: "A ballroom is imperative" pic.twitter.com/EBP22u10gH

FOX NEWS: Do you have a top level recommendation you would suggest to improve security for events like this?
— Aaron Rupar (@atrupar) April 27, 2026
REP. PAT FALLON: Certainly, the White House ballroom pic.twitter.com/EvYmb7Z0B8
Dear Cult Members,
The ballroom would not host events like the WHCA Dinner. That is a private event that simply invites members of the government to attend. Unless they plan to turn the venue into some kind of rent-a-space operation, in which I’m sure Puddle would demand a cut, the event would still be held somewhere else, not in the ballroom,
Signed,
The More You Know.
Quick Hits
The New York Post released the shooter’s “manifesto” that reads more like a suicide apology note, than a manifesto.
Asked about this “And I am no longer willing to permit a pedophile, rapist, and traitor to coat my hands with his crimes” during an interview with 60 minutes Puddle called Norah O’Donnell a “disgrace” adding that he is not a rapist.
O'DONNELL: In his manifesto, he wrote that 'I'm no longer willing to permit a pedophile, rapist, and traitor to coat my hands with his crimes.' What's your reaction?

TRUMP: I was waiting for you to read that because I knew you would because you're horrible people. I'm not a… pic.twitter.com/zaZhcRwbWJ
The rest of the tweet says: I was waiting for you to read that because I knew you would because you’re horrible people. I’m not a rapist. I didn’t rape anybody. I’m not a pedophile. Excuse me. You read that crap from a sick person. I was totally exonerated. You should be ashamed of yourself, reading that. You’re a disgrace.
*Flashback*

After Donald Trump was found liable for sexually abusing and defaming E. Jean Carroll, his legal team and his defenders lodged a frequent talking point.
Despite Carroll’s claims that Trump had raped her, they noted, the jury stopped short of saying he committed that particular offense. Instead, jurors opted for a second option: sexual abuse.
[snip]
A judge has now clarified that this is basically a legal distinction without a real-world difference. He says that what the jury found Trump did was in fact rape, as commonly understood.
The filing from Judge Lewis A. Kaplan came as Trump’s attorneys have sought a new trial and have argued that the jury’s $5 million verdict against Trump in the civil suit was excessive. The reason, they argue, is that sexual abuse could be as limited as the “groping” of a victim’s breasts.
Kaplan roundly rejected Trump’s motion Tuesday, calling that argument “entirely unpersuasive.”
“The finding that Ms. Carroll failed to prove that she was ‘raped’ within the meaning of the New York Penal Law does not mean that she failed to prove that Mr. Trump ‘raped’ her as many people commonly understand the word ‘rape,’ ” Kaplan wrote.
He added: “Indeed, as the evidence at trial recounted below makes clear, the jury found that Mr. Trump in fact did exactly that.”
Kaplan said New York’s legal definition of “rape” is “far narrower” than the word is understood in “common modern parlance.”
