After what I’m sure will be another internationally televised reminder that secondhand embarrassment is a real medical condition, Puddle will swear in Darline Graham Nordone, the sister of Senator Lindsey Graham, who died suddenly over the weekend. She was appointed to serve the remainder of her brother’s Senate term, which ends in January 2027.

Apparently only me and about six other people were curious what would happen to Graham’s committee assignments. Would Darline Graham Nordone inherit any of them, or would Senate Republicans choose someone else?

It’s not clear whether Graham’s committee seat on Judiciary will be filled before Todd Blanche’s nomination hearing on Wednesday to be attorney general; Chairman Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, referred Semafor to Sen. Mike Crapo, R-Idaho, who leads the Committee on Committees.

“Those are important things to talk about, but right now we’re talking about Lindsey,” Crapo told Semafor. “Some things have to happen rather quickly, but [Leader John] Thune and I will discuss that — it may be very soon on some things. But right now it’s just remembering Lindsey.”

MS Now reported the address would focus on newly declassified intelligence that the White House claims shows foreign interference in the 2020 election.

CNBC says that MS Now said Puddle will be joined by: CIA Director John Ratcliffe, acting Director of National Intelligence Bill Pulte, FBI Director Kash Patel, Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin and others, according to one of the officials, who were granted anonymity to discuss the internal plans, MS NOW reported.

Puddle sort of confirmed that at least part of his speech will focus on the 2020 election.

Greg Kelly: You have a prime-time address scheduled for Thursday. Some competing ideas. What’s it about? Can you give us a preview at all? What will happen Thursday night?

E. Jean Carroll…

More than $5 million was transferred to E. Jean Carroll, a significant move in a protracted legal battle with President Donald Trump coming three years after a jury found he had sexually abused and defamed the former magazine writer.

The disbursement of $5,625,005.48 – the damages award plus interest – was ordered by Judge Lewis Kaplan after the Supreme Court rejected Trump’s request to hear the case. Trump tried to stop the payment by arguing it should not go through until the Supreme Court decides whether to rehear his petition, a long-shot gambit that is rarely successful. The Supreme Court has not responded.

CNN reported that ICE agents have been directed to stop murdering people.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents have been directed to largely suspend vehicle stops until further notice, according to a source familiar with the guidance, marking a major reversal in recent tactics following two ICE-involved fatal shootings over the last week.

The guidance applies to agents who fall under Enforcement and Removal Operations, the branch within ICE charged with the arrest and deportation of undocumented immigrants, and imposes a pause on initiating stops, according to the source. Officers have been directed to use other methods for general immigration enforcement, which makes up a large share of their work, and to coordinate with partner agencies when executing a criminal warrant on a person in a vehicle.
