The U.S. military has confirmed that a third service member is believed to be dead in Friday’s attack on a base in Jordan and identified them as Sgt. Angel S. Rampersad, 28, of New York.
The confirmation brings the death toll to 18 U.S. service members killed since the war began.

The last time Puddle attended a Dignified Transfer it sparked bipartisan backlash after he wore a white baseball cap that matched the one sold in his campaign merch store for $55.
After the backlash over Puddle wearing campaign merch to a Dignified Transfer, Fox News somehow managed to air footage from a completely different ceremony. The network later apologized on air, saying it had inadvertently used the wrong video.
If I recall correctly, their fix was to air footage of the Dignified Transfer without showing Puddle at all.
As if wearing the merch store hat wasn’t bad enough, days later a Political Action Committee linked to Puddle sent a fundraising email promising donors access to his “private national security briefings” while using imagery from the Dignified Transfer.

A fundraising email from President Donald Trump’s political action committee has a provocative pitch: using an image from Saturday’s dignified transfer honoring six fallen US soldiers, it promises access to the president’s “private national security briefings.”
The email, sent by Never Surrender, Inc., promotes what it calls a “National Security Briefing Membership” and urges recipients to “claim your spot” with multiple links to donate, in what it describes as an exclusive group receiving updates about national security threats.
It promises that members will “receive my private national security briefings, unfiltered updates on the threats facing America. The straight truth on border invasions, foreign adversaries, deep state sabotage, and every danger the fake news hides.”
The message includes an official White House photograph showing Trump saluting during a dignified transfer at Dover Air Force Base, a solemn military tradition honoring fallen US service members. Trump attended alongside members of his administration.

A few moments later, Puddle decided the internet needed another reminder that he enjoys announcing military threats in all caps. This isn’t the first time he’s used his thumbs to publicly threaten strikes against civilian infrastructure.

The rest of the tweet says: “if the Americans target a bridge or a power plant in Iran, Iran will, in turn, strike infrastructure and bridges in the region, including energy facilities where the United States has interests,” per an Iranian military source to Tasnim. The Iranian military source adds “the Americans should have become fully aware in the past 10 days that Iran will target and destroy whatever it chooses” and that “any potential gamble by Trump will once again lead to his disgrace.”

This is fucking gross. Like always, Fuckstick only cares about what he can claim he “won.” It’s not about the fallen service members. It’s not about the girls’ school our military blew up. It’s not even about whether Iran has or doesn’t have a nuclear weapon. In his mind, everything is a zero-sum game where he either wins or loses.
And Venezuela was not a war. Whether you agreed or disagreed with the operation in Venezuela, it was a law enforcement operation supported by the military to arrest two people. It wasn’t a war. Calling it one just to pad your scoreboard is just weird.

Half of President Donald Trump’s MAGA base thought the Iran war was worth its economic costs in May. Now, just a little more than a third do.
That precipitous, 13-point drop in just two months, according to a new POLITICO Poll, reveals how the president’s most die-hard supporters are starting to agree with the majority of Americans who have long opposed the U.S.’ involvement in the war.
Additionally, 37 percent of self-identified MAGA Trump voters say the U.S. should continue its involvement only if it doesn’t increase costs, up from 29 percent who said the same in May, according to the survey, conducted by independent polling firm Public First. Nearly 1 in 5 MAGA voters believe that the U.S. should end its war in Iran, regardless of the costs.

President Donald Trump shared a poll from last month that found a majority of Americans back the end of his war in Iran, as the White House used the survey to urge voters to “trust in Trump.”
The Big Data Poll was dated June 29, before hostilities between the U.S and Iran had fired up again.
Trump posted the poll Monday morning on Truth Social, which found 60.4 percent of voters supported the Memorandum of Understanding between the U.S. and Iran — an agreement that was supposed to halt military operations in the region and eventually lead to a permanent peace deal and which has effectively collapsed.

The poll cited by Trump Monday, now three weeks old, said the president’s overall approval had received an 8-point bump, putting the president’s rating at 42.9 percent.
By contrast, a more recent Washington Post/Ipsos poll from July 8 – 13 had Trump’s approval rating at 37 percent, unchanged from the same poll in April. Trump only had a 29 percent approval of his conduct in overseeing the Iran war, according to the poll.

The Trump administration plans to announce Wednesday that it has reached a broad nuclear agreement with Saudi Arabia that could lead to the country enriching its own fuel for nuclear reactors, U.S. officials said.
The accord is intended to further bind the United States with the Saudi government as the war with Iran strains the relationship. The Trump administration, according to officials, estimates it will provide billions of dollars for the U.S. nuclear industry — starting with Westinghouse, which designs many of the reactors sold abroad.
The Trump administration plans to formally sign and announce the agreement with the Saudis on Wednesday, said two U.S. officials, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss sensitive diplomacy. It would announce the details to Congress soon afterward.

But after the Oct. 7, 2023, attacks on Israel by Hamas, that prospect receded. President Trump separated the proposal for U.S.-Saudi civilian nuclear cooperation from any demand that Saudi Arabia recognize Israel.
The agreement will require review by Congress, which under the Atomic Energy Act has the power to vote a resolution of disapproval. But as a practical matter, the agreement would likely pass, because Congress would have to assemble a veto-proof majority to override Mr. Trump’s initiative.
