Today we have a story of ingenuity which made life better for some kids missing each other.
Three year old Arlo Devonport and Arabella, his two year old little sister, have been missing their three year old neighbor and friend, Leo Adlington, during the lockdown in the UK. Amy Vickers, Arlo and Arabella’s mom, says the kids had taken to climbing up on the rabbit cage in the back yard just to see each other. Amy and Becca, Leo’s mom, agreed that just wouldn’t do.
Amy came up with the idea of installing a window at toddler eye level in the shared fence between their yards, according to USA Today. A little work later and the children had a way to play side by side and still observe social distancing. In addition to playing with each other and being able to chat, the moms bought wipe off markers so the kids can draw pictures and play Tic Tac Toe.
“The kids are at the window all day every day when we are at home so I guess they love it,” Amy said.
Sometimes simple solutions can solve complex problems and make unbearable circumstances bearable.
