It’s Friday.

For Friday, June 11th, 2021, President Biden who is still overseas, will have received his daily brief. He will have begun the first day of the G7 Summit hosted by the United Kingdom. This evening UK time, President Biden and First Lady Dr. Jill Biden participate in a reception, “family photo,” and have dinner with G7 leaders and the Royal Family.

BST =’s British Summer Time. Factba.se has the public schedule of the President in D.C., time and BST time.

For Friday, President has tweeted 2 times and retweeted 1 time so far.

The White House published a fact-sheet on what we can expect from the first day of the G7 Summit; Today, President Biden will meet with G7 leaders to discuss ways to forge a more fair, sustainable, and inclusive global economy that meets the unique challenges of our time. President Biden and G7 partners are committed to a global recovery that benefits the middle class and working families at home and around the world.

  • Rallying around the US proposal for Strong Global Minimum Tax.

G7 leaders will endorse a strong global minimum tax of at least 15 percent. This U.S. priority is a critical step towards ending the decades-long race to the bottom that pushes nations to compete over who can offer the lowest tax rate to large corporations at the expense of protecting workers, investing in infrastructure, and growing the middle class.

This unprecedented progress reflects the Biden Administration’s commitment to building a global tax system that is equitable and equipped to meet the needs of the 21st century global economy. By making big multinational corporations pay their fair share and raising resources to fund priorities for domestic renewal – such as infrastructure, childcare, affordable housing, and education – a global corporate minimum tax is a key part of our efforts to deliver a foreign policy for the middle class, and will help support working families everywhere.  This agreement is a clear illustration of how American leadership and commitment to multilateralism can produce results for American workers and businesses.

Today’s agreement paves the way for the removal of Digital Service Taxes (DSTs) and other discriminatory taxes. In addition to agreement on a global minimum tax, the G7 also reached historic agreement on a plan to replace DSTs with a broader reallocation of taxing rights to the places where the largest and most profitable multinational corporations are doing business and making money. Importantly, this applies to large multinationals broadly, both domestic and foreign, and not just the technology sector. This is an important principle for the United States, and will ensure that big multinational companies across the economy will pay a little more in the places where they operate, whether or not they have their headquarters there.

  • Exploring a Major Reallocation of Special Drawing Rights (SDRs) to Countries in Need:

The United States and our G7 partners are actively considering a global effort to multiply the impact of the International Monetary Fund’s proposed  Special Drawing Rights (SDR) allocation to the countries most in need.  At potentially up to $100 billion in size, the proposed effort would further support health needs – including vaccinations – and help enable greener, more robust economic recoveries in vulnerable countries, and promote a more balanced, sustained, and inclusive global recovery.
More detail will be included in the G7 Leaders’ Communique.

Bloomberg shared the “traditional family photo,” taken prior to Session 1 of the G7 Summit.

I will be sharing the second Friday tweet further down in the article.

When Thursday’s Open Thread was posted President Biden had tweeted 4 times. He concluded Thursday tweeting by adding another 8 tweets. That gives him a Thursday Tweeting Total of 12 tweets and 0 retweets.

He first shares a live stream to remarks he gave regarding the coronavirus vaccination program.

The stream is 22 minutes and 26 seconds long. President Biden begins speaking at the 1 minute and 55 second mark; his full remarks can be found here.

He next tweets the already announced plan for the U.S., to buy half a billion doses of the Pfizer coronavirus vaccine in order to donate it to nearly 100 nations.

President Biden (10:14): And today, we’re taking a major step that will supercharge the global fight against this pandemic.  At my direction, the United States will purchase an additional half billion doses from Pfizer — the Pfizer vaccine — that we’ll donate nearly 100 low- and lower-middle-income countries.   They will be the beneficiaries. Let me say that again: The United States will purchase a half a billion doses of Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine to donate to nearly 100 nations that are in dire need in the fight against this pandemic.  That’s a historic step.  The largest single purchase and donation of COVID-19 vaccines by any single country ever.

President Biden (13:51): American workers will now produce vaccines to save lives of people in Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Caribbean.  People they will never meet and have never met in places they’ve never visited and probably won’t have an opportunity to, but lives saved all the same thanks to American leadership and American workers’ hard work and values.

He next tweets remarks he gave on Wednesday when he arrived in the UK.

The 21 second montage video takes snips from his remarks given to U.S., Air Force Personnel and their families at Royal Air Force Mildenhall.

President Biden: I’m so proud to be here with all of you to kick off my first overseas trip as President.

President Biden: At every point along the way, we’re going to make it clear that the United States is back and democracies of the world are standing together to tackle the toughest challenges and the issues that matter most to our future.

He goes back to tweeting about the global vaccination plan.

The video is 11 seconds long features text in all caps; has no voice over, but is set to stringed instrumental music.

And in case you didn’t understand the announced announcement or the video in all cap text set to pretty music, he shares a video that announces the same thing.

For his last 3 tweets he thanks Prime Minister of the UK, Boris Johnson for hosting him and shares two videos snips from his remarks on Wednesday.

The video is 41 seconds long. This is a full context video, not snips of his remarks spliced together.

President Biden: America is better positioned to advance our national security and our economic prosperity when we bring together like-minded nations to stand with us.  These nations that have shed blood alongside of us in defense of our shared values.  Our unrivaled network of alliances and partnerships that are the key to American advantage in the world and have been.  They’ve made the world safer for all of us, and they are how we are going to meet the challenges of today, which are changing rapidly.  We’re going to meet it, though, from a position of strength.

This video is 26 seconds long. The text picks up in a middle of a paragraph and continues into a second paragraph.

President Biden: All of you — our service members stationed around the world — you are the solid steel spine of America around which alliances are built and strengthened year after year. These partnerships have hardened and have been hardened in the fire of war, and generations of Americans and service members who fought them…

His second tweet for Friday is a 39 second video clip from his remarks on Thursday where he announced the donation of coronavirus vaccines.

President Biden *(6:33): And from the beginning of my presidency, we have been clear-eyed that we need to attack this virus globally as well.  This is about our responsibility — our humanitarian obligation to save as many lives as we can — and our responsibility to our values. We value the inherent dignity of all people.  In times of trouble, Americans reach out to offer help and to offer a helping hand.  That’s who we are. And when we see people hurting and suffering anywhere around the world, we seek to help as best we can.

*the cue time is taken for the tweeted out live stream of his remarks from Thursday*

The White House has published the following fact-sheet regarding the U.S. and G7+ Plan to defeat the coronavirus pandemic.

Today, President Biden welcomed the historic commitment of the leaders of the G7 and guest countries to provide more than 1 billion additional COVID-19 vaccines for the world, starting this summer, of which the United States will contribute half a billion doses.

This commitment forms the basis of a comprehensive set of G7+ actions towards ending this global pandemic in 2022. The G7+ action plan that will be agreed to by leaders in Cornwall includes vaccinating the world’s most vulnerable, providing emergency supplies, bolstering world-wide economic recovery, and positioning the international community to prepare for, prevent, detect, and respond to future biological catastrophes.

The United States will lead the G7+ in a global COVID-19 vaccination campaign, providing 500 million safe and effective COVID-19 vaccines for the world through COVAX, with delivery starting in August 2021. This donation, which President Biden announced yesterday, is the largest single donation of vaccines in history and comprises half of the G7+ commitment to provide an additional 1 billion safe and effective COVID-19 vaccine doses over the next 12 months, especially to the world’s most vulnerable.

In addition, we are taking concrete and tangible steps to meet the ambition of the G7+ and drive action to end this pandemic and prevent the next. We call on other countries and private sector partners to join us.

Due to formatting issues, mine or theirs, I couldn’t say, however, the bullet points refuse to copy and paste correctly, so because of the formatting issues, to see the bullet pointed items; where they explain, the plan is to mass produce the vaccine, purchase said vaccine, and donate it to countries in need, follow the link…

In personal news, I will be off tomorrow…yay…not so yay, I’m having extended family time with my republican’s rule family…

but I do get to spend some much needed cuddle time with my newly turned 2 year old granddaughter so it’s mostly yay…
