Deadline: Former Disney actress and singer Demi Lovato was hospitalized on Tuesday “after reportedly suffering a potential overdose earlier in the day.” Sources told the media, via Deadline, that heroin was not the cause as was first reported. Through a rep the twenty-five year old singer issued a statement, “Demi is awake and with her family who want to express thanks to everyone for the love, prayers and support. Some of the information being reported is incorrect and they respectfully ask for privacy and not speculation as her health and recovery is the most important thing right now.”
The singer has been open about her struggles with mental health issues, alcohol addiction and an eating disorder, last month the singer released a single called “Sober,” in which the singer reveals she relapsed after several years sobriety.
She remains hospitalized and is expected to receive treatment at a rehab facility upon her release.

Hollywood Reporter — Last year following the death of his sister, Carrie Fisher, Todd Fisher said in an interview that Carrie would appear in Star Wars Episode IX via unused footage. At the time Lucaflim president Kathleen Kennedy said, Fisher was “confused.” It turns out that Todd Fisher was correct announced on Friday via a statement, returning director J.J Abrams said, “We desperately loved Carrie Fisher. Finding a truly satisfying conclusion to the Skywalker saga without her eluded us. We were never going to recast, or use a CG character.” The footage the company intends to use is unused footage taken during “production of 2015’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens.”

Deadline: Norman Lear the creator of classic seventy-sitcoms, such as All in the Family, Maude, Good Times, is said to be “re-imagining” his hits, including the Jefferson’s via a deal with Sony Picture TV. Lear who just celebrated his 96th birthday entered a two-year first look deal with Sony pictures. Part of that deal includes the option to “reimagine” his classic popular works. Lear said, “I couldn’t be prouder and more excited about joining Sony Pictures Television, who has the guts to go with a kid.”

Variety — Mission Impossible: Fallout, the sixth installment of the franchise, staring Tom Cruise is expected to debut at number one, with an estimated 59 million in box office sells.
Rated PG-13 with a run-time of 2 hours and 27 minutes.
Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again is heading for the number two spot with an estimated $15 million for it’s “sophomore” weekend. The Equalizer 2 should finish in the third spot, with $13.6 million.
