New York State Sues The Trump’s

On Thursday the Attorney General of New York, Barbara Underwood, filed a suit against President Trump and his three kids, Ivanka, Donald Jr, and Eric.

The suit comes after a two year investigation that was started by the Attorney General’s office, in June of 2016, into President Trump’s charitable foundation, the Donald J. Trump Foundation.

President Trump stopped making personal contributions to the charity in 2008, he served as the president from 1987 until January 23rd, 2017.

The investigation found that the foundation’s board of directors, Ivanka, Donald Jr, and Eric, had not meet since 1999, and has functioned with no oversight.

The suit is asking for the court to dissolve President Trump’s charity, the Donald J. Trump foundation, for what Underwood deems, “persistent violation of state and federal law” that governs the New York State charities.

The suit also asks that President Trump be banned from serving as an “officer, director, or trustee,” of another charity for ten years, while asking the court to impose a one year ban against the Trump children named in the suit, that is subject to suspension if the children undergo adequate training on the “fiduciary duties of directors of not-for-profit corporations.”

It is also asking that President Trump repay up to double the amount of benefits improperly obtained through party transactions entered into after July 1, 2014.

On page thirty of the suit it alleges that the foundation contributed “in-kind donations of $2.8 million dollars to the Trump Campaign.”

The president has already taken to twitter to call this a “political motivated,” act by the Democrats.

More to come on the tweets later.
