On Monday Deputy Attorney General Rosenstein, FBI Director Christopher Wray, and the Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats had a meeting with President Trump.
The meeting comes just a day after President Trump took to twitter to demand an investigation into news reports that the DOJ/FBI had an informant planted inside Trump’s presidential campaign.
I hereby demand, and will do so officially tomorrow, that the Department of Justice look into whether or not the FBI/DOJ infiltrated or surveilled the Trump Campaign for Political Purposes – and if any such demands or requests were made by people within the Obama Administration!

In response to President Trump’s tweeted demand. On Sunday the Department of Justice spokesperson Sarah Flores released a statement via CBS News stating that the Department of Justice has asked the Inspector General to expand the ongoing review of the FISA application process to include investigating the charge of an informant planted inside Trump’s 2016 campaign:
“has asked the Inspector General to expand the ongoing review of the FISA application process to include determining whether there was any impropriety or political motivation in how the FBI conducted its counterintelligence investigation of persons suspected of involvement with the Russian agents who interfered in the 2016 presidential election.”
The White House Press Sectary notes that the meeting had been scheduled last week, prior to President Trump issuing his demand via twitter.
Shortly after the meeting was announced President Trump’s re-election campaign is said to have sent out this email message to the President’s supporters.

At the conclusion of the meeting White House Press Secretary, Sarah Sander’s issued a statement.

The first part of the announcement mirrors that of the DOJ in stating that the Inspector General has been asked to expand their original investigation, however, she adds, that it was also agreed between those present that Chief of Staff John Kelly “will immediately set a up a meeting with the FBI, DOJ, and DNI together with Congressional Leaders to review highly classified and other information they have requested.”
