Sources: Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein “Verbally,” Resigns or Expects to Be Fired (Updated)

Breaking News: Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, according to Axios has offered his verbal resignation to Trump Administration Chief of Staff John Kelly. 

According to ABC News, Rosenstein is expected at the White House where sources tell them, Rosenstein plans to be fired by President Trump. 

Rosenstein who was thrust into the spotlight last year after AG Jeff Sessions recused himself from having any involvement regarding the investigation into whether or not any members of the Trump campaign collude to conspire with the Russian government to undermine the U.S. Presidential Election of 2016. Has reportedly suggested to former Deputy Director of the FBI, Andrew McCabe and others, that maybe they should record the President and floated the idea of invoking the 25th Amendment last spring as was reported @ The News Blender, first reported by the New York Times on Friday. 

President Trump is currently at the United Nations in New York City. 

According to Taylor Popielarz a Capital Hill reporter for Spectrum News, if Rosenstein either resigns or is fired that until a new Deputy AG can be named and confirmed to the post, Solicitor General Noel Franciso would oversee the Mueller Russian Probe. 

Update 

Peter Alexander of NBC News reports via Twitter that Rosenstein will meet with President Trump on Thursday once the President has returned from the United Nations.

Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders issued a statement that reads in part, “At the request of,” Rosenstein requested a meeting with the White House to discuss, “recent news stories,” she added, “The will meet on Thursday when the President returns to Washington D.C.” 

For now Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein has neither resigned nor been fired.
