ABC Cancels Roseanne After Twitter Rant

 

Roseanne Barr is no stranger to controversy, the comedian made headlines when she infamously butchered the Star Spangled Banner at a baseball game.

She again made headlines when her famous sitcom got the reboot treatment on ABC the show that saw huge ratings for a freshman show, and led to the show being immediately picked up for a second season and to President Trump calling and congratulating the actress for huge ratings. Roseanne Conner in that first show called herself a Trump supporter.

She’s again making headlines just a week after her show ended it’s first successful run, when over Monday and Tuesday she issued a series of tweets that ranged from bizarre to racist.

Deadline notes that Roseanne also said, “By the way, George Soros is a nazi who turned in his fellow Jews 2 be murdered in German concentration camps & stole their wealth-were you aware of that? But, we all make mistakes, right Chelsea?”

ABC Entertainment President Channing Dungey issued a statement via Deadline Hollywood, “Roseanne’s Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values, and we have decided to cancel her show.”

This is not the first time Roseanne has made a racially charged statement in 2013 she made a similar comment in regards to Susan Rice, Obama’s National Security Adviser
