The response has been wonderful and the encouragement and even monetary support (for website expenses and community building efforts) has been more than expected in such a short period of time.
As we look forward to further establishing theNewsBlender (TNB), we would like to provide more content for everybody.
However, those of us currently working on this do have other jobs and regular life responsibilities that prevent us from adding as much content as we’d like.
This provides a great ground-floor opportunity for you!
We would like your help. Be a bigger part of this project by helping to provide content for our visitors. We specifically need help in providing news commentary content. We would love it if a few people could submit a story each day, but would also be pleased with a few days per week or even just a weekly piece. Whatever you would like to help with would be great!
Not sure if you are qualified? No worries, we will train you!
Basically, here’s how it will go:
1. We would provide a story for you to cover (or you can provide your own ideas).
2. We’d like you to research the story from a number of different sources in order to gather all of the facts.
3. You would then present the story by writing a summary of it, provide some quotes/links to supporting sources, maybe include some related tweets that provide commentary on it from various people, and then give your own brief thoughts on it. You’re probably already familiar with the basic format of our news commentaries.
If you don’t think you are a good enough writer for this, we can help edit and polish.
Please note that this is a volunteer position…none of us are getting paid for any of the work here at this time.
