CNN has reported that celebrity chef, author and star of his own TV show, Parts Unknown, Anthony Bourdain took his own life Friday morning. French Chef, Eric Ripert, found him in his hotel room in France.
Bourdain’s show Parts Unknown was in France filming for a new episode in their 11th Season on CNN. The network the put out an Official Statement.
“It is with extraordinary sadness we can confirm the death of our friend and colleague, Anthony Bourdain. His love of great adventure, new friends, fine food and drink and the remarkable stories of the world made him a unique storyteller. His talents never ceased to amaze us and we will miss him very much. Our thoughts and prayers are with his daughter and family at this incredibly difficult time.”
His fans and colleagues throughout the years have made statements of condolence on Twitter.

Anthony Bourdain, 61, has died. He took his own life.
He was in France working on an upcoming episode of his award-winning CNN series. His close friend Eric Ripert, the French chef, found Bourdain unresponsive in his hotel room Friday morning.
