In a Friday tweet President Trump announces a new round of tariffs he might place on European Cars, more on that tweet later.


On Wednesday President Trump held a rally in Minnesota, @ The News Blender for more on that event.


The House farm bill the full text is available @ Congress.gov passed with 213 votes for and 211 votes against. It know heads to conference in the senate.


As The News Blender reported on Friday, the Supreme Court has ruled that on line retail stores that do not have a physical location inside States, will now have to collect that States sales tax. From the linked News Blender article, “This decision argues that an out-of-state seller may have the necessary access to due process, and because of the size of the companies singled out by the South Dakota law (the companies must do either $100,000 of business in that state or conduct at least 200 independent transactions in the state, annually, to be liable for sales tax collection) that they do, in fact, have requisite due process access.”


On Thursday First Lady Melania Trump took a surprise trip to the Texas Border to learn more about family separation. She was photographed wearing a green trench coat with the words written on the back “I really don’t care do U”

She did not wear the jacket during her visit at the border, she wore it off the plane and then again to get back on the plane.



On Thursday the House failed to pass the Bob Goodlatte (R-VA) the vote 193-231, they have also postponed a vote on a more moderate bill until some time next week.

Henry McMaster is the current governor of South Carolina. He was appointed to that post after Nikki Haley became the U.S. Ambassador to the U.N.

Tampa Bay Times, reports that Congressman Ron DeSantis, is running behind his primary opponent Adam Putnam citing a Fox News poll, “But DeSantis still has his work cut out for him. A recent telephone poll of about 900 likely Republican voters by Fox News showed  him trailing his primary opponent, Commissioner of Agriculture Adam Putnam, by a 32-17 percent margin, with 39 percent still undecided. DeSantis is a regular guest on Fox News.”

Deficit with Mexico on goods is $71.1 billion in 2017.

Surplus with Mexico on services is 7.0 billion (According to the Department of Commerce, U.S. exports of Goods and Services to Mexico supported an estimated 1.2 million jobs in 2015 (latest data available) (968 thousand supported by goods exports and 201 thousand supported by services exports).




CNN “European automakers already make some cars in the United States. BMW has a big plant in Spartanburg, South Carolina, and Mercedes-Benz has a factory in Tuscaloosa County, Alabama.”

This would be an added to the already 25% tariff on steel and 10% on aluminum.

In May commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross launched an investigation into whether car imports hurt U.S. national security. The finding of that investigation are not expected until July or August.
