The IG released a report in earlier June that discussed political bias of FBI agents, but found no evidence that political bias played a role in the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s emails nor the early stages of the Russian investigation. What the IG did find was that FBI agents mixed personal chatter in with business chatter and has referred back to the FBI, the private use of the emails, instant messages, and texts messages, for investigation, “The OIG found no evidence to connect the political views expressed by these employees with the specific investigative decisions, but referred five employees for investigation into whether the messages violated the FBI’s Offense Codes and Penalty Guidelines.” It was more than five employees, earlier in the report, it also referred, former Director Comey, FBI agent Strzok, former FBI attorney Page, and former Deputy Director McCabe, back to the FBI for investigation to see if their use of private emails went against department policy and guidelines.
