Tennessean — Bill Lee a Businessman from Franklin, Tennessee defeated Rep Diane Black (R) to become the Republican party nominee for governor. He will face Democrat challenger former Mayor of Nashville Karl Dean.

AP News — President Trump on Wednesday held a roundtable discussion on prison system reform at the White House. The group included “pastors and bishops,” from across the country. One pastor from Ohio, Darrell Scott, told the gathered group, “This is probably the most pro-active administration regarding urban America and the faith-based community in my lifetime. This is probably going be … the most pro-black president that we’ve had in our lifetime.”

CNBC — Friday NASA revealed the first “nine astronauts riding commercial spacecraft to the International Space station.” Five astronauts have been assigned to the first two Boeing flights, while four astronauts have been assigned to SpaceX’s flight. 

San Francisco KPIX 5 — According to the Article — For nearly twenty years “a mole for the government of communist China,” worked for  Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA). The “spy,” was fired five years ago. KPIX 5 spoke to former FBI agent and now KPIX 5 security analyst Jeff Harp who said he wasn’t surprised by this news, “Think about Diane Feinstein and what she had access to. One, she had access to the Chinese community here in San Francisco; great amount of political influence. Two, correct me if I’m wrong, Dianne Feinstein still has very close ties to the intelligence committees there in Washington, D.C.”

CNN — Friday night found CNN re-airing an interview between CNN host Don Lemon and NBA Basketball star LeBron James. The two focused mostly on Jame’s work with at risk youth in his hometown of Akron, Ohio, but the conversation did mention President Trump, James feels the President is using sports to divide American’s, “he’s trying to divide our sport, but at the end of the day, sport is the reason why we all come together.” 
Lemon asked what James would say to President Trump if he was sitting across from him and James answered, “I would never sit across from him. I’d sit across from Barack, though.”

First Lady Melania Trump issued a statement in support of Jame’s work with kids and says she’s open to visiting the new school James has helped start in Ohio. 

NBA star Michael Jordan issued a statement through a spokesperson, via CNN, “I support LeBron James. He’s doing an amazing job for his community.”

Saturday 

Saturday marked President Trump’s third rally in five days @ The News Blender carried a live stream. 

The News Blender — It was announced in July that amid fear of tariff fears that the Trump administration was planning a bailout for farmers in the amount of $12 billion dollars, the farmers according to The Washington Post, are expected to receive their first checks right after labor day. 
The News Blender — Friday China unveiled another round of tariffs on $60 billion of U.S. exports. This announce came just a few days after President Trump directed Trade Rep, Robert Lighthizer “to consider raising the proposed tariffs on $200 billion in Chinese imports from 10% to 25%, in response to becalmed negotiations and accusations of China devaluing its currency.”
