President Trump also issued a letter to State and local leaders, in which he writes, “On their behalf, I ask you to join me in publicly expressing your support for the men and women of ICE and CBP.” He goes on to write that “Tragically,” these officers of ICE “have been subject to a nationwide campaign of smears, insults, and attacks by politicians shamelessly catering to the extreme elements in our society,” he says these extreme elements desire, “lawlessness and anarchy.” He concludes the letter by stating, “Each of you has a chance and a duty to protect your communities and your constituents. I urge you to work with us, and with our brave ICE and CBP officers, to achieve that goal for the sake of all Americans, from all walks of life and from every background.” The Full text of the letter can be found @ White House.gov

During an appearance on CNN’s Sate of the Union, host Jake Tapper asks former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper if one of the reasons were are having this crisis, regarding security clearance, is in part because of former CIA director John “Brennan’s hyperbole?”

Clapper replies, “I think is it. I think John is sort of like a freight train he’s going to say what’s on his mind. I think though, that the common denominator among all of us that have been speaking up, though, is genuine concern about the jeopardy and the threats to our institutions and values and although we may express that differently, I think that’s what this is real about, but John and his rhetoric have become an issue in and of itself.”

Clapper’s statement can be found in the above two minute and five second video.

The article published in The New Yorker on Sunday it titled, ‘John Brennan’s Choice to Confront Trump.’ The article details the rocky relationship between the intelligence community and newly sworn in President Trump, the heart of this tweets ire states, “As Trump stepped up his public and private attacks on Obama, some of the new President’s advisers thought that he should take the extraordinary step of denying Obama himself access to intelligence briefings that were made available to all of his living predecessors.” the paragraph ends with, “in the end Trump decided not to exclude Obama, at the urging of,” national security adviser H.R. The Environmental Protection Agency on Tuesday announced a new proposal called the “Affordable Clean Energy (ACE) Rule.” This new rule would “establish emission guidelines for states to develop plans to address greenhouse gas emissions from existing coal-fired power plants,” and it would replace the 2015 Clean Power Plan rule, that according to the EPA, was, “stayed by the U.S. Supreme Court and has never gone into effect.” The full text of both the 2018 ACE rule and the 2015 CPP rule can be found @ epa.gov

  1. As to Trumps daily tweet fest…

23 Insincere talk that hides what you are really thinking is like a fine glaze on a cheap clay pot.

24 A hypocrite hides hate behind flattering words.

25 They may sound fine, but don’t believe him, because his heart is filled to the brim with hate.

26 He may disguise his hatred, but everyone will see the evil things he does.

27 People who set traps for others get caught themselves. People who start landslides get crushed.

28 You have to hate someone to want to hurt him with lies. Insincere talk brings nothing but ruin.

  2. Sorry for O/T post but it’s important. Michael Cohen will have a plea hearing at 4 PM today. There will be a a news conference after the hearing per NBC News.

Between the news on Manafort and Cohen today, I suspect another Trump Twitter storm as he heads to West Virginia rally. And that will likely be a rally where Trump really unleashes on Mueller and the so-called witch hunt.

    EDIT

Cohen was seen entering NY Feild office to plea guilty and will then head to federal court for plea hearing.

    UDATE

Another source from NY Times is reporting there is no plea deal. Cohen will just plea guilty to the crimes rumored about for so long.

Yet, another CNBC reporter is continuing with plea deal story and that Cohen will admit to a FEC violation.

    It’s a crazy day.

  3. Trump’s tweet on De Blasio is funny. He heard the commie said nice things about him. So Trump endorsed Bill de Blasio for Mayor in 2013.

  4. Coal can be made cleaner through some very expensive technologies that have problems of their own. The question is why even bother? Natural gas is plentiful and increasingly preferred by the customers of electric utilities. The answer is political lobbying by the coal industry and voting blocs in several coal producing states. If Trump was really interested in anything other than raking in pay to play cash, he’d be pushing programs to retrain miners and gently suggest his supporters consider relocating to where today’s jobs are found.

  5. “Dennard destroyed him but Mudd is in no mental condition to have such a Clearance. Should be REVOKED? @seanhannity”

Am I crazy, or did the President of the United States just publicly ask Sean Frickin’ Hannity if he should revoke Mudd’s security clearance??
