Giuliani Calls For Special Counsel To Be Investigated

President Trump’s personal attorney Rudy Giuliani believes that Special Counsel Robert Mueller and Russian probe investigators should be under investigation going so far as to suggest the Special Counsel destroyed evidence, “by allowing text messages from now-fired FBI official Peter Strzok,” and Department of Justice/FBI attorney Lisa Page, “to be erased in the Russia probe.”

The comments from the former Mayor of New York came during wide-ranging interviews with Hill.TV’s Buck Sexton and John Solomon, the focus of which was Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian election interference and FBI investigators handling of the Hillary Clinton email investigations.

Asked about the text messages Giuliani says, “Mueller should be investigated for destruction of evidence for allowing those text messages from Strzok to be erased, messages that would show the state of mind and tactics of his lead anti-Trump FBI agent at the start of his probe,” he adds, “that should be investigated, damn it, that should be investigated fully. You want a special counsel, get one for that.”

Giuliani goes on to say that what Mueller did, was worse than what former President Nixon’s secretary did when she erased less than nineteen minutes of a taped conversation, “It’s actually worse than Rose Mary Woods. She erased less than 19 minutes of conversation, but the FBI got rid of more than 19,000 messages.”

In early December the Inspector General’s Office, released a detailed reported that explained the recovery method used to retrieve text messages from certain FBI mobile devices.

According to the report they managed to recover over 19,000 texts sent between Strozk and Page. However, the report goes on to say, they were unable to retrieve messages sent between Strozk and Page, during the short period of time they worked for Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s Office, as those assigned iPhones had been turned-in and “set back to factory settings.”

Page 10 of the report explains that during Strzok’s Exit Clearance Certification, a Special Counsel’s Records Officer, reviewed his iPhone as part of the “records retention procedure ,” and found “no substantive texts, notes or reminders.”

Giuliani tells Hill.TV, that Russian probe investigators need investigated for using the “Christopher Steele dossier, which he called a “piece of garbage,” to justify a search warrant on a Trump adviser without telling the court it was paid for by Hillary Clinton’s campaign and the Democratic Party.”

“Do I think that is improper? Yeah, that borders on, that sounds to me a lot more like a false statement than some of the ones they charged,”

In July of 2018 as the News Blender reported, the heavily redacted FISA application used to gain the original warrant and subsequent warrants, on former Trump adviser Carter Page was released to the public.

On page 16 of the 412 PDF the FBI explains that Steele aka “Source 1” was hired by a U.S. firm likely looking for “information that could be used to discredit Candidate 1’s campaign.”

John Solomon notes that Giuliani made one thing clear during their wide-ranging interview which is his intention “to fight back on every remaining move the special prosecutor makes.”
