Actress, Director, Penny Marshall has died, she was 75.
Variety reports the actress who rose to fame playing Laverne from Laverne and Shirley, passed away peacefully Monday night at her home in the Hollywood Hills, “due to complications from diabetes.”
Marshall, the sister of Director Garry Marshall, and ex-wife of Rob Reiner, made her feature film directorial debut in 1986, when she directed Whoopi Goldberg in Jumpin’ Jack Flash. She went on to direct such hits as “Big,” staring Tom Hanks, and “A League of their Own,” staring Gina Davis, Madonna, and Rosie O’Donnell.
