President Trump has tweeted 2 times so far, re-tweeted once.
1. The Mainstream Media is under fire and being scorned all over the World as being corrupt and FAKE.
2. Should never have been started, a disgrace!
He deleted the second tweet only to re-issue the tweet.
Opinion
News media: News is based in fact’s, possibly with opinion tossed into the facts of the news.
Opinion media: Based on their feelings of the news with possibly some fact to backup those feelings.
Fake News, what is it?
Well in truth I’m not entirely sure, but I will say that fake news is a meme that screams, “Hillary Guilty of Having Sex with Goats.” or some such thing. It’s covered under satire in most cases.
The media reports things, for example the Trump Tower meeting where Donald Trump Jr., Paul Manafort, and Jared Kushner met with the Russian’s in order to obtain dirt on Hillary Clinton.
President Trump and his supporters screamed fake news about the New York Times article that exposed that meeting.
The reporting turned out accurate, the meeting happened, it wasn’t about adoption, it was about getting dirt on Hillary Clinton. So not fake news.
The blurred line here is the Presidential oath to the Constitution.
The Oath of Office:
I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.
He or she as President has a duty to uphold the Constitution. It means that his attacks IMO hinder our Constitutional freedom to talk shit about our government officials.
Sure it’s not a law, but it is in fact setting a dangerous ‘new normal,’ as most things do, the media is not our enemy, the media is a private business that gives us political junkie news on our government, it is our job as political junkies to dig passed click bait headlines and research for ourselves what is and what is not “fake news.”
What burns me up the most, he just signed a worthless EO about demanding private colleges allow for diversity in speech, the EO itself covered more about student loans than Freedom of Speech, but the Right celebrated the EO as a big win for the First Amendment. Never mind, it was the government making new “law” about the First Amendment.
As to the other tweet quoting Fox News Bill Hemmer and Byron York, we aren’t seeing Democrats walk back, we are seeing Democrats on the Hill, demand Mueller’s finding be made public, and the Majority Leader blocking the effort by not allowing a vote on a non-bidding resolution that the House passed in order demand the release of the report, nobody but a handful of people have seen so far.
3. “The Party of Healthcare!”
CNN reported on Monday night that in a “dramatic reversal,” the Justice Department said it “agreed with the ruling of a federal judge in Texas that invalidated the Obama-era health care law.”
According to the article in a letter the Justice Department explained that they would not be, “urging that any portion of the district court’s judgment be reversed.”
Spokesperson Kerri Kupec is quoted as saying, “The Department of Justice has determined that the district court’s comprehensive opinion came to the correct conclusion and will support it on appeal.”
4. “A Catastrophic Media Failure” the title of the opinion piece.
The opinion piece was written by the co-founder of the Federalist Sean Davis. It appeared on the Wall Street Journal website Monday evening.
5. BIG WIN…
On Tuesday Axios reported that the House failed to get the two-thirds majority needed to override the President’s first veto.
According to the article the final vote was 248-181.
President Trump issued his first veto on the Resolutions passed in both the Senate and the House to override his border wall funding Emergency Declaration.
