It’s Friday.

Today is President Trump’s 73rd birthday, Twitter celebrates #JohnMcCainDay.

The President has tweeted so far 2 times.

We wish Natalie well in her fight against cancer, a truly terrible disease. Our thoughts are with her and her family.

President Trump phoned his Fox & Friends and spoke for almost 50 minutes.

For some reason clips of the President’s interview are light, the above is the full interview.

On Wednesday night as the News Blender reported Thursday, President Trump told ABC News George Stephanopoulos that he was open to receiving dirt on his political opponents from foreign government even adversaries like Russia and China, and he might, maybe, possibly, notify the FBI about said dirt.

On Friday he attempts to clarify the statements made on tape.

Trump: I think it was accurately stated and I’ve had a lot of support. Yeah, I mean I’ve had a lot of support. First of all, I don’t think anybody would present me with anything bad because they know how much I love this country. Nobody is going to present me with anything bad. Number two, if I was, and of course you have to look at it, because if you don’t look at it, you’re not going to know if it’s bad. How are you going to know if it’s bad, but of course you give it to the FBI or report it to the Attorney General [um okay…] or somebody like that. But, of course you’d do that, you couldn’t have that happen with our country. And everybody understands that. And I thought it was made clear. In fact I actually said at the beginning I think I said I’d do both, but how are you going–if you don’t hear what it is you’re not going-even know what it is. How can you report something if you don’t know what it is.

The statement can be found at the 7:15 mark of the full video.

Asked if he has plans to fire White House Counselor to the President Kellyanne Conway for what the U.S. Office of Special Counsel, no relation to the Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s Office, calls a “knowing and blatant disregard for the law,” regarding the Hatch Act, which the OSC reports Conway has violated in both TV interviews and on her Twitter account and is a repeat offender.

The President responds in part, “it looks to me like they are trying to take away her right of free speech,” he adds, “that’s just not fair.”

After he meanders for a bit, he is asked again if he intends to fire her, he says, “no I’m not going to fire her, I think she’s a terrific person.”

The statement comes at the 20:49 mark of the full interview.

The New York Times, explains the Hatch Act, and offers examples of violations from past Administrations.

When I started this post these were the top trends.

Right before post #Flagday is number 1 followed by #JohnMcCainDay. Happy Birthday Mr. President is not in the top trends.
