It’s Monday.

Special Counsel Robert Mueller is scheduled to testify two days from now, on July 24th, before two House committees regarding the Russian Election Investigation Report.

As we get ever closer to Mueller’s testimony the President, Donald Trump, has tweeted for Monday, 12 times.

Opinion

This is of course not the first time the President has expanded what the Business Insider reported is an “unprecedented degree of pressure on the independent central bank ahead of its policy meeting next week.”

The Federal Reserve Bank is scheduled to met at the end of July, and they are expected to cut interest rates, but economic experts are split on how large the adjustment will be.

The tweets also come as Treasury Steven Mnuchin warns the government is likely to hit the debt ceiling in September and urged Congressional leadership to reach a deal to raise the debt ceiling prior to Congress adjourning for summer recess.

Mnuchin said last week a deal between Democratic leadership and the Trump administration is “progressing.”

President Trump has spent months taking credit for the “roaring” economy, he has in fact just for July tweeted that the economy was, the “BEST IT HAS EVER BEEN,” said the economy was “the greatest,” bragged that his approval rating is 10 percent or 15 percent higher than 50 percent because the economy is doing “better than EVER before.”

The President along with demanding the Fed lower rates has also called for Quantitative Easing (QE), a program the New York Times explained in April, resulted in, “the Fed buying more than $4 trillion worth of Treasury bonds and mortgage-backed securities as a way to increase the supply of money in the financial system.”

In 2012 via tweet the President called QE “a political favor for” former President Obama as he ran for re-election.

Bloomberg reported on July 10th, that the President “has grown concerned that the strengthening U.S. dollar is a threat to his economic agenda and has asked aides to cast about for ways to weaken the greenback, according to people familiar with the matter.”

They go on to say that, “The president’s top economic adviser, Larry Kudlow, and Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin both oppose any U.S. intervention to weaken the dollar, the people said.”

The questions then become, if the economy is the bestest ever, how come President Trump has had to bailout the farmers, twice? Why is he pressuring the Fed to lower rates and restart a program he was against before he was for? And why on earth would he be interested in weakening the dollar?

On Sunday’s front page of the Washington Post an article entitled, “A Twitter Storm and its Aftermath, appeared, the article under a different title, He always doubles down’: Inside the political crisis caused by Trump’s racist tweets, was posted online on Sunday, they are identical in text.

The identical articles, focus on the three tweets the President issued last Sunday, according to the authors of the article, Michael Scherer, Josh Dawsey, Ashley Parker, and Seung Min Kim, the article is an account of President Trump’s tweets and their aftermath and is based on interviews with “26 White House aides, advisers, lawmakers and others involved in the response — most of whom spoke on the condition of anonymity to share behind-the-scenes details.”

In short according to the article, President Trump tweeted, without consulting anyone, there was push back, President Trump thought he was “interjecting himself into Democratic Party politics in a good way.”

The Republicans and his campaign scrambled, thought they had a handle on the tweets, finally, until during a rally that President Trump held on Wednesday, his supporters chanted “send her back,” which again pushed the tweets back into the spotlight.

Of note the current comment count on the Sunday article, is 12.6K.

For What it’s Worth.

Ahead of his rally on Wednesday the President told reporters that based on talk and things he heard, Rep. Ilhan Omar(D-MN), married her brother to commit immigration fraud. He says “I don’t about it,” but that there is talk.

I’ve seen this rumor morph this week, originally the claim was that Omar married her brother in order to allow him legal status in the U.S., now, the rumor, being pushed via Twitter, is that she was the one that needed to be married in order to gain legal status.

Snopes.com, couldn’t truly say this was “fake news,” however the original claim, “first appeared in 2016 as an anonymous, since-deleted post on SomaliSpot, an online discussion forum geared toward the Somali community.”

There is zero evidence to be found that the rumors are true that she married her brother to achieve legal status for either herself or her brother.

This according to Trump Twitter Archive is the 32nd tweet in which the President calls Mueller, “conflicted.”

Wednesday’s testimony will be covered in a live thread at the News Blender.

BBC News reports that according to Iran state-run media, they have “arrested 17 spies who it says were working for the CIA, and sentenced some of them to death.”

CNN reports that the seventeen accused spies, are Iranian citizens.

They go on to say that Iran’s Intelligence Ministry, sent a document to CNN, that alleges the seventeen arrested have confessed to being spies for the CIA.

Defendants serving their sentences in prison mentioning tempting promises of CIA officers including emigration to USA, a proper job in America, and money from substantial centers as well as intelligence/technical operations.

Retired Supreme Court Justice John Stevens passed away last week at the age of 99, as the Washington Post reported on Monday, he now lies in repose, in the Great Hall of the Supreme Court.
