It’s Thursday aka July, 1st, 2021.

There are 3 days until 4th of July.
There are 67 days until Labor Day.
There are 83 days left until Fall.
There are 122 days left until Halloween.
There are 147 days left until Thanksgiving.
There are 177 days left until Christmas.

You’re welcome.

For July, 1st, 2021; President Biden and First Lady Dr. Jill Biden are traveling today to Surfside, Florida, to visit the cite where a condo building partially collapsed killing 18 people and leaving 145 people unaccounted for.

On their visit; they will meet with Florida officials, thank first responders, and privately meet with the family of those still missing. This afternoon President Biden will offer remarks.

It’s being reported that some family members fear a Presidential visit will hinder continued search and rescue efforts. But, the mayor has said his visit will have “no impact” on their mission.

As a reminder; the numbers of those that have died and are very fluid. In a briefing this morning, Florida officials explained that in the early hours of Thursday morning rescue operations had to be halted as they grew concerned about building stability.

The events prior to his afternoon remarks are via pool sprays. Which just means the video’s will be slow in coming throughout the day.

President Biden has tweeted 1 time so far for Thursday.

The video is 4 minutes and 22 seconds long. It’s basically a government infomercial on the Bipartisan Infrastructure Framework. The gist of the video is to point out how the Framework calls for 500,000 EV charging stations to be built across the country. They also discuss the benefits of electric buses for public transit.

  • Build a national network of electric vehicle (EV) chargers along highways and in rural and disadvantaged communities. The largest investment in EV infrastructure in history, the Bipartisan Infrastructure Framework will accomplish the President’s goal of building 500,000 EV chargers.
  • Electrify thousands of school and transit buses across the country to reduce harmful emissions and drive domestic manufacturing of zero emission vehicles and components.

The cost of both in billions…

EV infrastructure$7.5
Electric buses / transit$7.5

This is the part where I disclose that my husband and I are planning on buying a *Tesla, Model 3 probably as that’s the cheaper option. We both really would like an S Model, so we shall see. 🙂

*I’m sorry, Andrew, but I assure you our want of a Tesla has nothing to do with being Musk fangirls/fanbois.*

When Wednesday’s Open Thread was published President Biden had 4 tweets and no retweets. He added 1 tweet and 1 retweet giving him a Wednesday’s Tweeting Total of 5 tweets and 1 retweet.

The video is taken from his remarks on June 29th, 2021, from Wisconsin.

President Biden: [And] it’s going to make the world of difference for families here in Wisconsin.  Here’s what it’s going to do: This deal will put American workers to work in good-paying jobs, not minimum wage jobs, not 15-dollar-an-hour jobs.  Prevailing wage job, good-paying jobs, repairing our roads and our bridges. You all know why that matters.  One in five miles of highway and roads in America are in poor condition.  One in five miles.  Some states it’s worse where the weather is tougher.  Five perc- — 50 years — 50 [40] percent of our bridges are over 50 years old.  More than 1,000 bridges here in Wisconsin are rated as structurally deficient by engineers.  One thousand just in Wisconsin. And I’m not — that doesn’t make Wisconsin better or worse; it’s — all across the nation is this way.  The bridges — the 10 most traveled bridges in America need repair, and some need to be completely rebuilt.  More than 600 — more than 600 here in the state of Wisconsin — bridges have weight limits to prevent trucks from crossing.  That means long detours for farmers heading to market.

President Biden remarks are scheduled for 3:50 p.m. Florida time.

This is an Open Thread.
