Coffee Talk With Tiff

Coffee. Photo by Jonathan Thursfield.

It’s Saturday.

It really is Saturday as I sit here drinking my coffee, on a hazy Bakersfield morning.

Anyhoo, so, typically I have some sort of idea of what I want to chat about on Saturday’s, but today, nope, so I’m sort of going to steal Emily’s Owl, but instead of TikTok video’s I’m going share some tweets…

I’m going to pick from three categories; bookmarks, retweets, and likes…

Background, the Twitter bookmark feature is one of those new Twitter features I actually like. It allows me to save the tweet without having to copy and paste into a word doc/Slack, share it with Lenny via Twitter DM so I have it for later reference, or give it a like or retweet so it shows on my profile…

What I bookmarked this week-ish  will appear first, followed by the likes and retweets…

I bookmarked above because Kelly SoRelle is mixed up with the Oath Keepers who were charged on Thursday with “seditious conspiracy.”

The tweet from SoRelle is dated September 8th, 2021…

So, why does she matter?

Well, yesterday evening I saw this…

For those unaware or maybe forgotten, Mike Dunford, a lawyer, not our lawyer; spent most of the end of 2020 and part of 2021 lawsplaining election 2020 court cases for those of us who aren’t at all lawyers of any kind…

From the KWTX News 10 article:

Kellye SoRelle, a family lawyer from Granbury, issued a statement to CBS News earlier today, stating that she would serve as the loose-knit group’s leader until Rhodes was released and proclaimed his innocence.

According to SoRelle’s website, she volunteered for Lawyers for Trump in November 2020 and was assigned to assist the group Michigan where she was involved in legal challenges to the election results. Before Rhodes’ arrest, SoRelle had been serving as the general counsel for the Oath Keepers.

KWTX News 10. 01/14/2022.

SoRelle is quoted as saying; I am currently acting as President of Oath Keepers in lieu of Mr. Rhodes until he is released. He is not guilty of any of the outlandish charges and the organization stands with Mr. Rhodes. I would like for the political parties and politicians to stop dividing the people and using us to promote agendas for their own personal financial gain.

Dunford added tweets after I retweeted…

Moving on; no worries, I believe we circle back to the Oath Keepers at some point in my retweets and likes…

The NBC News article explains that the officers were dealing with a combative suspect, when the “sergeant” arrived on the scene and escalated the situation by engaging “in a verbal altercation with the suspect sitting inside a patrol vehicle.”

The female officer became concerned and rushed the sergeant pulling him back by his duty belt. He did have a can of pepper spray aimed at the suspect but didn’t deploy it when she rushed the other officer. He then temporarily grabs her throat.

Sunrise Police Chief Anthony W. Rosa praised the female officer saying; I am very proud of the officer involved in this incident and believe that the actions taken were definitive and demonstrative of good leadership during a tense situation.

And because sometimes I find myself losing faith in all humanity, I like random glib-ish humor takes to make me feel better…

I do have to say regarding the female officer…

Once again we move on or well, we circle back…

LARP =’s live action role play…

Yeah, totally had to Google it…

Anyhoo, York, wrote piece in the Washington Examiner…

I didn’t know it was York when I saw this tweet, on Thursday evening, which I did nothing with and had to find again using my Google history…

Yeah, Brit a total laugh riot, I’ll be sure to explain to those in prison for; attempting to murder–conspiring to hire a hit-man–conspiring to rob a bank, or conspiring to defraud people–that you think they aren’t guilty and the juror, shouldn’t have convicted them because they were all just LARP’s…

Anyhoo, here are some of the tweets, I liked under Brit’s hot take…

To be fair; the replies to York are more hilarious than Brit’s…

Now we move on to the randomness of my retweets and Twitter likes…

I saw several people mocking Senator Marshall saying that Dr. Fauci’s financials were already public record. In my barely there Google search I found Fact check.org saying; Marshall appeared unaware that federal law already requires Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, to submit an annual financial disclosure report — similar to members of Congress — and those reports are publicly available.

They go on to say…

One business day after submitting our request to the National Institutes of Health’s FOIA office, we received a redacted version of Fauci’s 42-page report that covered his financial activity for 2019. The form was signed by Fauci on April 21, 2020, and certified by an agency ethics officer on May 18, 2020.

Such forms include information on the filers’ assets, income, employment agreements, transactions, liabilities, and gifts for themselves, their spouse and dependent children.

Fauci’s 2019 report shows he is invested in money markets, bond funds and equity funds, and provides the amounts of unrealized gains or losses for those accounts in 2019. It shows investment gains, for example, of $390,000 in CIBC Atlas Disciplined Equity Fund. Most of his funds appeared to be managed by Fauci’s Schwab One Trust Account.

Fact check.org. 01/12/2022.

This all came about because Fauci during testimony was caught calling the Kansas Senator a “moron” on a hot mic..

Now, with ten minutes to go to post time. I will leave you with the good of my Twitter likes and retweets…

And one more baby photo, though she’s not much of a baby anymore…

I heart this one the most…

I will also say I bookmarked, retweeted and liked this one as seen in the Owl I mentioned earlier by Emily.

Also big shout-out to her for being my…

For this Saturday’s coffee-talk…

This is an Open Thread.
