In a not so shocking move the Senate has confirmed William Barr as the next United States Attorney General.

Barr will replace Acting Attorney General Matt Whitaker, while he also takes over the role as overseer for the Special Counsel Robert Mueller Probe.

CNN reported on Wednesday that in light of his likely confirmation as AG, for a second time, Barr was originally the AG under President G. H. W. Bush, his daughter, Mary Daly, would be leaving her position at “Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN), the Treasury Department’s financial crimes unit,” according to a Justice Official.

While the husband of Barr’s youngest daughter, Tyler McGaughey, “has been detailed from the powerful US attorney’s office in Alexandria, Virginia, to the White House counsel’s office,” two officials told CNN.

CNN notes, “The moves were by choice and are not required under federal nepotism laws.”

White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders offered her congratulations via Twitter.

For What It’s Worth: as the News Blender reported in January it’s possible that with the confirmation of a new AG, Deputy AG Rod Rosenstein will exit the Department of Justice.

William Barr is now President Trump’s third Attorney General.

At present according to USA Today journalist @ Brad Heath the confirmation vote is still on-going

This is a developing story
