On Tuesday as was reported @ The News Blender journalist and Washington Post associate editor Bob Woodward released via the Washington Post quotes from his new book, ‘Fear’ which is due for release September 11th.

Shortly after the Washington Post article was published, The Washington Post published a recorded phone call between President Trump and Bob Woodward, that took place in August, as was reported @ The News Blender. Woodward explained to President Trump that he had tried to reach out and interview the President himself for the book, but his efforts to reach out to staff failed to gain access to the President.

President Trump’s first mention of the Woodward book, was to tweet three separate statements from, Defense Sectary Jim Mattis, who Woodward explains told close associates that President Trump, “acted like — and had the understanding of — ‘a fifth or sixth-grader.'” His next tweet was a statement from Chief of Staff for the President, General Kelly, who Woodward explains told colleagues in a small group meeting his thoughts on President Trump, “He’s an idiot. It’s pointless to try to convince him of anything. He’s gone off the rails. We’re in Crazytown. I don’t even know why any of us are here. This is the worst job I’ve ever had.” The third tweeted statement by President Trump was from Sarah Huckabee Sanders, the Press Secretary, who is not mentioned by the Washington Post in Tuesday’s article.

Each persons statement denies the book’s accuracy, Mattis states in part that the book is, “fiction,” Kelly called the book in part, “another pathetic attempt to smear people close to President Trump,” Sanders in her statement says that the book is “fabricated stories,” which were made up by, “former disgruntled employees, told to make the President look bad.”

President Trump then spends several more tweets stating that the book has already been “discredited,” calling the quotes inside the book, “made up frauds, a con on the public. Likewise other stories and quotes.” He then asks his followers if Woodward is a “dem operative?”

In The Washington Post Article President Trump is quoted by Woodward as saying about his Attorney General Jeff Sessions, that he was a “traitor,” for stepping away from the “Russian investigation,” and President Trump allegedly questions Sessions mental health, “This guy is mentally retarded. He’s this dumb Southerner. . . . He couldn’t even be a one-person country lawyer down in Alabama.”

Starting in July of 2017 President Trump has often via Twitter expressed his unhappiness with AG Sessions, according to Trump Twitter Archive, President Trump has issued twenty-one tweets regarding Sessions, only five of which were positive in nature. The most recent attack on AG Sessions came on Monday where he criticized Sessions for allowing two Republican’s to be charged with crimes during the mid-terms as was reported at The News Blender. President Trump on Tuesday via Tweet, denied ever using “those terms on anyone,” which includes “Jeff,” adding that being a “southern is a GREAT thing.”

On Tuesday evening he tweeted out two articles one from Breitbart and one from the Dailycaller each blasting the book. The articles use the statements President Trump issued on Twitter from Mattis and Kelly.

On Wednesday President Trump once again took to Twitter first expressing “shame” that people could write an “article or book,” using, “totally,” made up “stories,” and he wondered how come “Washington politician’s don’t change libel laws?”

The President issued two more Tweets each thanking Kelly and Mattis for their statements disavowing the book as “fiction,” and “boring and untrue.”

For What It’s Worth

Libel laws are State issues, not federal law…(It’s the Constitution which prevents federal libel laws) from @ media law “Under the American federal law system, defamation claims are largely governed by state law, subject to the limitations imposed by the free speech and press provisions of the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution as interpreted and applied by the Supreme Court and other courts.”

During the phone between President Trump and Bob Woodward. Woodward explains that he recorded interviews with both current of former staff the full transcript is and audio recording of the phone call can be found @ The Washington Post

BW: She transcribed all the tapes because, with permission, I taped people for hundreds of hours.
