The McCain’s had announced last year that Senator McCain had been diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain cancer, “glioblastoma,” but as the announcement today notes in the year since, that although, “John has surpassed expectations for his survival, that the “progress of the disease and the inexorable advance of age render their verdict,” based on this the McCain’s have decided to, “discontinue medical treatment.”
The family closes with thanking all of the support and kindness shown from Senator McCain’s caregivers over the last year, and to all those that continue to show concern and affection for Senator McCain.

MCCAIN: He served his country and not always right. Made a lot of mistakes. Made a lot of errors, but served his country. And I hope we could add honorably. https://t.co/l2knunQKzU
