3. We will never forget your service, and we will never, ever let you down!

Highlights via The White House transcript

Trump: And I think — I have to say this: You have no idea how much the American people love and respect you.  You don’t hear it.  You probably don’t hear too much when you have to read it from the fake news.  But they love you.

Trump: One week ago, Milwaukee Officer Matthew Rittner was murdered as he led a drug raid.  Last night, NYPD Detective Brian Simonsen tragically lost his life when he responded to an armed robbery.  We grieve the loss of these great heroes.  Our hearts go out to their families and to everyone in the NYPD and Milwaukee Law Enforcement community.  We will never forget them.

Trump: Tomorrow is also the one-year anniversary of the horrific Parkland shooting.  We cannot imagine the sorrow and suffering the Parkland families have endured.  Our entire nation mourns for the victims and their loved ones, and we pledge our unwavering resolve to work with the leaders in this room to secure our nation’s schools and everywhere else.

Trump: As we review the new proposal from Congress, I can promise you this: I will never waver from my sacred duty to defend this nation and its people.  We will get the job done.  The wall is very, very — on its way.  It’s happening as we speak.  We’re building, as speak, in the most desperately needed areas.  And it’s a big wall.  It’s a strong wall.  It’s a wall the people aren’t going through very easy.  You’re going to have to be in extremely good shape to get over this one.  (Laughter.)  They would be able to climb Mount Everest a lot easier, I think.

Fox News conducted a poll of “1,004 randomly chosen registered voters nationwide,” between February 10th and February 12th, 2019. The poll was conducted under “the joint direction of Beacon Research (D) (formerly named Anderson Robbins Research) and Shaw & Company Research (R).” It has a margin of error of “plus or minus three percentage points for all registered voters.”

Fox News explains under the image President Trump tweeted that, “While there is a wide gap in the number of Democrats (12 percent) and Republicans (86 percent) favoring the wall, majorities of both parties, 60 percent of Democrats and 73 percent of Republicans, favor the compromise.”

5. An Opinion Piece from the Washington Examiner.

The opinion piece which appeared in the Washington Examiner was written by Eddie Scarry.

He writes that when President Trump on Monday during a rally from El Paso, Texas, said “We’ve actually started a big, big portion of the wall today at a very important location, and it’s going to go up pretty quickly over the next nine months,” that he thought it was, “nonsense he was spreading in hopes that his supporters might not mob him on stage for so far failing to keep the central promise of his campaign.”

According to Scarry he “checked” with “agents” who are “at the Rio Grande Valley border sector who sent him “construction for new border barrier announced last year. The project funds six miles-worth of concrete and steel barrier of the sort that agents told me in January is immensely successful in deterring illegal border crossings.”

4. (re-do) It took six minutes for him to post the corrected tweet.

As the News Blender reported Monday the bi-partisan committee charged with reaching a agreed upon funding bill that would please both Democrats, Republican’s, and President Trump.

They have until Friday midnight to pass the funding measure to avoid a second government shutdown over border wall funding.
