Thursday morning President Trump fact-checker Toronto Star reporter Daniel Dale issued a tweet quoting the President from a recent article.
The full quote according to Breitbart was in response to a question asked by Political Editor Matthew Boyle, regarding “how the left is fighting hard.”
Trump: So here’s the thing—it’s so terrible what’s happening. You know, the left plays a tougher game, it’s very funny. I actually think that the people on the right are tougher, but they don’t play it tougher. Okay? I can tell you I have the support of the police, the support of the military, the support of the Bikers for Trump – I have the tough people, but they don’t play it tough — until they go to a certain point, and then it would be very bad, very bad. But the left plays it cuter and tougher.
According to Dale, this is the second time our sitting President seemed to imply a threat that his supporter would mobilize against the President’s opponents.
The article in which the President made the comments centers around his relationship with former Speaker of the House Paul Ryan.
For What it’s worth/Opinion
Included in his comment that appears to threaten again that his supporters are tough guys, he says, “Like with all the nonsense that they do in Congress … with all this invest[igations]—that’s all they want to do is –you know, they do things that are nasty. Republicans never played this,” now this of course is not as outrageous as the above comment, however, it’s important to note that our President is once again trying to gaslight supporters.
During their tenure as Congressional oversight, the R’s investigated, their main focus for the last term of President Obama, Benghazi and Her [Hillary Clinton’s] emails/server.
As that is their job, they are to oversee actions done by agencies, Presidential administrations, spending…it’s called Congressional oversight for a reason.
As a reminder:
