It’s Monday.
As the News Blender reported President Trump addressed the nation regarding the mass shootings that took place over the weekend.
Prior to the address the President tweeted 7 times.
We cannot let those killed in El Paso, Texas, and Dayton, Ohio, die in vain. Likewise for those so seriously wounded. We can never forget them, and those many who came before them. Republicans and Democrats must come together and get strong background checks, perhaps marrying….

….this legislation with desperately needed immigration reform. We must have something good, if not GREAT, come out of these two tragic events!

The Media has a big responsibility to life and safety in our Country. Fake News has contributed greatly to the anger and rage that has built up over many years. News coverage has got to start being fair, balanced and unbiased, or these terrible problems will only get worse!

During his presser he called for bi-partisan action to prevent future mass shootings.
Trump proposes working with social media companies to "detect mass shooters before they strike," and demands regulation of violent video games. pic.twitter.com/888s3deoqr

Trump: First, we must do a better job identifying and acting on early warning signs. I am directing the Department of Justice to work in partnership with local, state, and federal agencies, as well as, social media companies to develop tools that can detect mass shooters before they strike.
Trump: Second, we must stop the glorification of violence in our society, this includes gruesome and grisly video games that are no common place. It’s too easy today for trouble youth to surround themselves with a culture that celebrates violence. We must stop or substantially reduce this and it has to begin immediately.
*Trump: Third, we must reform our mental health laws, to better identify mentally disturbed individuals who may commit acts of violence and make sure those people not only get treatment, but when necessary involuntary confinement. Mental illness and hatred pulls the trigger not the gun.
Trump: Fourth, we must make sure that those judged to pose a grave risk to public safety do not have access to firearms and that if they do those firearms can be taken through rapid due process. That is why I have called for red flag laws also known as extreme risk protection orders. Today I’m also directing the Department of Justice to propose legislation ensuring that those that commit hate crimes and mass murders face the death penalty and that this capital punishment be delivered quickly, decisively, and without years of needless delay.
*The video is cued to start right where the above tweeted clip ends.
*Opinion.
I could in fact fill this post, with many examples of President Trump glorifying violence.
I could in fact fill this post, with many examples of President Trump belittling people, human beings, illegals and legals alike.
I could in fact fill this post, with many examples of Republicans going on Fox News calling asylum seekers invaders.
I’m not going to do it, one, you’ve witnessed it, just viewing this thread everyday.
Let it sink in, his words, the proposals he has “directed” which may in fact have no teeth, but might very well grow teeth, are calling to limit our Constitutionally protected rights. Not just 2A, but 1A, the 4th, the 5th, and that’s probably not all of them.
Our founding principles, are based on more freedom not less.
It’s a truly a shame that when an act like this happens, our focus, is not on the dead, their families, their pain, but instead, we look for the government for answers, when in fact, we should look toward God, each other, as a society, we can not law ourselves away from violence.
*The opinion expressed in the above, is mine alone, I am not speaking on behalf of the News Blender or it’s writers.
China dropped the price of their currency to an almost a historic low. It’s called “currency manipulation.” Are you listening Federal Reserve? This is a major violation which will greatly weaken China over time!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) August 5, 2019
After the President’s remarks, he carried on his China tweets.
Based on the historic currency manipulation by China, it is now even more obvious to everyone that Americans are not paying for the Tariffs – they are being paid for compliments of China, and the U.S. is taking in tens of Billions of Dollars! China has always….
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) August 5, 2019
….used currency manipulation to steal our businesses and factories, hurt our jobs, depress our workers’ wages and harm our farmers’ prices. Not anymore!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) August 5, 2019
China is intent on continuing to receive the hundreds of Billions of Dollars they have been taking from the U.S. with unfair trade practices and currency manipulation. So one-sided, it should have been stopped many years ago!

Opinion.
I’m going to have to dig for information about these specific tweets.
But let’s look at them shall we?
“it is now even more obvious to everyone that Americans are not paying for the Tariffs – they are being paid for compliments of China, and the U.S. is taking in tens of Billions of Dollars!”
That’s simply not accurate. When we import goods from China, we are in fact paying the tariff.
Tariff is a tax on the American consumer.
“…to steal our businesses and factories, hurt our jobs, depress our workers’ wages and harm our farmers’ prices.”
Yeah, nope, sorry, China did not “steal” our jobs, our factories, they can make things cheaper in China…why you ask?
Because our government regulations, at both the state and federal levels made building things in the U.S., more expensive.
Also, we became a serviced based economy, meaning, we work to sell products made by others, for consumers to purchase at a lower cost and higher profits.
“hundreds of Billions of Dollars they have been taking from the U.S. with unfair trade practices and currency manipulation.”
When you go buy a product, you give the store money and leave with the product, you have in fact, left the store with a trade deficit, is it unfair?
Nope.
You retained the product, they received the money, the exchange might be a bit lopsided, such as the movies for example, as the product is not reusable nor is it a tangible product beyond your entertainment.
However, the exchange was not unfair, as it was your choice to exchange money for a movie ticket.
This post will be updated within reason.
