As the coronavirus continues to keep many states on virus footing the Democratic National Convention has moved to hold their Presidential nomination event mostly virtual.
Demconvention.com explains Wednesday night’s theme; The theme of Wednesday’s program is “A More Perfect Union.” We are not going back to where we were before Donald Trump’s economy and mishandling of the pandemic—for too many Americans, that wasn’t good enough. As president, Joe Biden will lead us to a better America we know is possible. As he leads us out of Trump’s chaos and crises, he will help America build back better.
Former President Barack Obama is scheduled to speak Demconvention.com posted excerpts:
“I have sat in the Oval Office with both of the men who are running for president. I never expected that my successor would embrace my vision or continue my policies. I did hope, for the sake of our country, that Donald Trump might show some interest in taking the job seriously; that he might come to feel the weight of the office and discover some reverence for the democracy that had been placed in his care.

But he never did. He’s shown no interest in putting in the work; no interest in finding common ground; no interest in using the awesome power of his office to help anyone but himself and his friends; no interest in treating the presidency as anything but one more reality show that he can use to get the attention he craves.
The event will be hosted by actress Kerry Washington. With featured speakers including former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, and Senator Elizabeth Warren.
Following Obama’s speech is Biden’s recently picked running-mate Senator from California Kamala Harris.
