It’s Monday.

It’s still Inflation Reduction Act 2022–Week(s)…

There are 15 days to go before President Biden hosts a celebration to celebrate the Inflation Reduction Act law…

President Biden’s Public Schedule for Monday, August 22nd 2022:

10:00 AMOut-of-Town Pool Call Time

Friday he offered us 3 tweets prior to article post time. He added 6 tweets giving him a Friday tweeting total of 9 tweets and 0 retweets.

His full statement:

Americans all across the country are back at work in record numbers. 22 states – a record high – have unemployment rates at or below 3 percent, and 14 states now have their lowest unemployment rate on record.  This is the latest sign that my Administration’s economic plan is working.  Last month, America created 528,000 jobs and matched the lowest unemployment rate in 50 years.

My infrastructure law and CHIPS and Science law are already bringing investments to make more here in America and create good jobs, and the Inflation Reduction Act will build on that even further. We are finally building an economy that works for working families. And, we continue to see signs of progress on fighting inflation and lowering gas prices. I promised to build the economy from the bottom up and middle out – we have more work to do, but we’re making progress.

Ali Zaidi the Deputy Climate Advisory took over President Biden’s Twitter account.

Ali Zaidi: When it comes to climate and the Inflation Reduction Act there are three big things to take away.

Ali Zaidi con’t: The first is that it helps cut consumer costs, helping more folks afford and access clean energy upgrades and retrofits. For the first time ever, a credit for used-vehicles, not just new ones, so that folks who are in the used-car market can also buy electric.

Ali Zaidi con’t: The second is that it will help boost America’s industrial manufacturing capability. More folks are going to get lifted up into middle class jobs, jobs that can support a family and a career by producing things like solar panels and wind turbines, batteries, here in factory floors across the country.

Ali Zaidi con’t: The third big thing is helping clean up our communities. For so many folks, they’ve been living either on the fenceline of an industrial facility or on the front lines of a changing climate. This bill helps get the resources out there to clean up the pollution, help people literally breathe easier. Thanks to the President’s leadership, we’re going to be able to cut pollution by ten times more than any other bill that’s ever made through Congress and onto the President’s desk.

Ali Zaidi con’t: That means we’re going to position ourselves not only to cut greenhouse gas emissions, but also to lead the clean energy economy here and around the world.

Zaidi was not the only Biden administration official to take over the Twitter account…

Gina McCarthy: Young Americans have been the driver, really that has been pushing for climate action because it’s their future. They have not been the bad guys in this. It’s up to us. And the good news is that this is $370 billion dollars in investments in their future, and their kids future. President Biden signed the Inflation Reduction Act into law. It’s a huge step forward in tacking the climate crisis and a big step forward for our country.

Gina McCarthy con’t: We all know that there have been communities that have simply been left behind, disinvested in for years. They’re the ones hardest hit by pollution and hardest hit by climate. There’s $60 billion dollars in investments that are specifically directed to these communities to give them access to the clean energy future, to actually reduce legacy pollution that’s so important to their health and well-being.

Gina McCarthy con’t: We’re talking about a gigaton of reductions in greenhouse gas emissions. We’re talking about a 40 percent reduction in this bill that will get us towards that 2030 goal to cut our emissions in half. This is bigger, better and more lasting than any step ever taken anywhere, frankly, in the world to tackle the climate crisis.

It’s just a 12 second gif the text says: President Biden signed into law: the largest investment in American history to tackle climate change.

Saturday:

President Biden tweeted 7 times on Saturday.

President Biden signed into law the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 on August 16th 2022. The YouTube is 23 minutes and 20 seconds long. His full remarks can be found here. Not all of Saturday’s tweets are remarks quote to text tweet.

President Biden: We’re in a session of — for a while, people doubted whether any of that was going to happen.  But we are in a season of substance.  This administration began amid a dark time in America — as Jim said, “a once-in-a-century pandemic” — devastating joblessness, clear and present threats to democracy and the rule of law, doubts about America’s future itself.

President Biden: This new law also provides tax credits that’s going to create tens of thousands of good-paying jobs and clean energy manufacturing jobs, solar factories in the Midwest and the South, wind farms across the plains and off our shores, clean hydrogen projects and more — all across America, every part of America. This bill is the biggest step forward on climate ever — ever — and it’s going to allow — it’s going to allow us to boldly take additional steps toward meeting all of my climate goals — the ones we set out when we ran.

It’s another 12 second gif the text says: President Biden signed into law: Fairer tax code: Cracking down on wealthy billionaires. Not the middle class.

President Biden: It includes ensuring that we create clean energy opportunities in frontline and fence-line communities that have been smothered — smothered by the legacy of pollution, and fight environmental injustice that’s been going on for so long.

The first 6 seconds of the 22 second video clip feature a sentence taken from remarks he gave prior to signing into law the CHIPS and Science Act of 2022.

President Biden: Well, I tell you what: Detroit is making some really hot vehicles.  (Laughter.)  They even got a Hummer that can go 4.1, 0 to 60.  That’s faster than my Corvette, and my Corvette is older than I am, almost.

At the 12 second mark words appear on the video: And more are coming. Thanks to the Inflation Reduction Act Americans can buy more affordable electric vehicles. Drivers, rev your electric engines.

One of the images shared in the video came from a visit he paid to Dearbon, Michigan, in May of 2021. He visited Ford’s Rouge Electric Vehicle Center and test drove their new electric truck…

Semi-quote to tweet text (it’s already been posted above but hey, I’ll do it again.)

President Biden: This bill is the biggest step forward on climate ever — ever — and it’s going to allow — it’s going to allow us to boldly take additional steps toward meeting all of my climate goals — the ones we set out when we ran.

Sunday:

President Biden tweeted 5 times on Sunday.

President Biden: I believe in the promise of America.  I believe in the future of this country.  I believe in the very soul of this nation.  And most of all, I believe in you, the American people. I believe to my core there isn’t a single thing this country cannot do when we put our mind to it.  We just have to remember who we are.  We are the United States of America.

He says sort of the above in his remarks; the tweet is more in your face campaigning than the remark text.

President Biden: And let’s be clear: In this historic moment, Democrats sided with the American people, and every single Republican in the Congress sided with the special interests in this vote — every single one.

President Biden: That’s what’s happening now.  From the American Rescue Plan [03/11/2021] that helped create nearly 10 million new jobs, to a once-in-a-generation infrastructure law [11/15/2021] that will rebuild America’s roads, bridges, ports; deliver clean water, high-speed Internet to every American; to the first meaningful gun safety law in 30 years — and if I have anything to do with it, we’re still going to have an assault weapons ban, but that’s another story.  And to get significant veterans’ healthcare law in decades, for the first time [08/10/2022]; to a groundbreaking CHIPS and Science Law [08/09/2022] that’s going to ensure that technologies and jobs of the future are made here in America — in America.  (Applause.) And all this progress is part of our vision and plan and determined effort to get the job done for the American people, so they can look their child in the eye and say, “Honey, it’s going to be okay.  Everything is going to be okay.”

President Biden: In fact, the big trun [sic] com- — big drug companies spent nearly $100 million to defeat this bill.  A hundred million dollars.

President Biden: And I’m about to sign the Inflation Reduction Act into law, one of the most significant laws in our history.  Let me say from the start: With this law, the American people won and the special interests lost.  The American people won and the special interests lost.

Monday:

He’s got two tweets so far for Monday…

President Biden: Folks, the Inflation Reduction Act does so many things that, for so many years, so many of us have fought to make happen. And let’s be clear: In this historic moment, Democrats sided with the American people, and every single Republican in the Congress sided with the special interests in this vote — every single one.

President Biden: And remember: Every single Republican in Congress voted against this bill. Every single Republican in Congress voted against lowering prescription drug prices, against lowering healthcare costs, against a fairer tax system. Every single Republican — every single one — voted against tackling the climate crisis, against lowering our energy costs, against creating good-paying jobs. My fellow Americans, that’s the choice we face: We can protect the already-powerful or show the courage to build a future where everybody has an even shot.

New from the White House:

In light of the announcement President Biden offered a statement:

During my time as Vice President, I worked closely with Dr. Anthony Fauci on the United States’ response to Zika and Ebola. I came to know him as a dedicated public servant, and a steady hand with wisdom and insight honed over decades at the forefront of some of our most dangerous and challenging public health crises. When it came time to build a team to lead our COVID-19 response – in fact, in one of my first calls as President-elect – I immediately asked Dr. Fauci to extend his service as my Chief Medical Advisor to deal with the COVID-19 crisis our nation faced.  In that role, I’ve been able to call him at any hour of the day for his advice as we’ve tackled this once-in-a-generation pandemic.  His commitment to the work is unwavering, and he does it with an unparalleled spirit, energy, and scientific integrity.

Dr. Fauci has served under seven Republican and Democratic Presidents during his career, beginning with Ronald Reagan.  He was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2008 under President George W. Bush.  For almost four decades, he has served as Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, helping our country navigate health crises ranging from HIV/AIDS to COVID-19.  Because of Dr. Fauci’s many contributions to public health, lives here in the United States and around the world have been saved.  As he leaves his position in the U.S. Government, I know the American people and the entire world will continue to benefit from Dr. Fauci’s expertise in whatever he does next. Whether you’ve met him personally or not, he has touched all Americans’ lives with his work. I extend my deepest thanks for his public service. The United States of America is stronger, more resilient, and healthier because of him.

Sigh.

But to end on a more positive note…

Allegedly Republican Senator from Florida Marco Rubio is in campaign trouble…
