Biden Bits: Our Future is Bright…

Biden Tweets Logo. Image by Lenny Ghoul.

There are 17 days until President Biden holds a celebration to celebrate the passage of the Inflation Reduction Act. In light of this and based on my assumption that the celebratory campaign like tweets will continue until then–I’ve decided to switch it up a bit…

President Biden’s Public Schedule for Friday, August 19th 2022:

10:00 AMOut-of-Town Pool Call Time
Out-of-Town Pool

The White House this morning announced:

On Thursday, September 15, President Biden will host at the White House the United We Stand Summit to counter the corrosive effects of hate-fueled violence on our democracy and public safety, highlight the response of the Biden-Harris Administration and communities nationwide to these dangers, and put forward a shared vision for a more united America.

President Biden decided to run for president after the horror of the hate-fueled violence that erupted in Charlottesville, Virginia, in 2017. Since taking office, his Administration has consistently taken steps to counter hate-motivated violence — from signing the bipartisan COVID-19 Hate Crimes Act, to releasing the first-ever National Strategy for Countering Domestic Terrorism, to signing the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, the most significant legislation in three decades to reduce gun violence.

Even as our nation has endured a disturbing series of hate-fueled attacks, from Oak Creek to Pittsburgh, from El Paso to Poway, from Atlanta to Buffalo, Americans remain overwhelmingly united in their opposition to such violence. The United We Stand Summit will bring together heroes from across America who are leading historic work in their communities to build bridges and address hate and division, including survivors of hate-fueled violence. The summit will include a bipartisan group of federal, state, and local officials, civil rights groups, faith and community leaders, technology and business leaders, law enforcement officials, former members of violent hate groups who now work to prevent violence, gun violence prevention leaders, media representatives, and cultural figures. It will feature a keynote speech from President Biden as well as inclusive, bipartisan panels and conversations on countering hate-fueled violence, preventing radicalization and mobilization to violence, and fostering unity.

As President Biden said in Buffalo after the horrific mass shooting earlier this year, in the battle for the soul of our nation “we must all enlist in this great cause of America.” The United We Stand Summit will present an important opportunity for Americans of all races, religions, regions, political affiliations, and walks of life to take up that cause together.

Susan Rice the White House Domestic Policy Advisor posted the following “blog” post:

Hate must have no safe harbor in America—especially when that hate fuels the kind of violence we’ve seen from Oak Creek to Pittsburgh, from El Paso to Poway, and from Atlanta to Buffalo. When we cannot settle our differences of opinion peacefully, and when ordinary Americans cannot participate in the basic activities of everyday life—like shopping at the grocery store, praying at their house of worship, or casting a ballot—without the fear of being targeted and killed for who they are, our democracy is at risk.

That’s why, on Thursday, September 15, President Biden will host the United We Stand Summit at the White House to counter the corrosive effects of hate-fueled violence on our democracy and public safety, highlight the response of the Biden-Harris Administration and communities nationwide to these dangers, and put forward a shared, bipartisan vision for a more united America.

And, we hope it will also include you. Communities across the country will be invited to watch the summit live and engage in a national conversation about standing together against hate-fueled violence.

Nominate a “Uniter” in your community

Across America, Americans are working to bring their communities together across lines of racial, religious,  political and other differences to prevent acts of hate-fueled violence, promote healing where such violence has had devastating consequences, and foster unity. These “Uniters” are bipartisan faith leaders and teachers, police officers and mayors, civic leaders and volunteers, and everyday members of our communities. Many of these Uniters are themselves survivors of hate-fueled violence who have turned their pain into purpose. They hold together our communities together and lift us up in the hardest times.

By September 1st, 2022, we invite you to nominate an extraordinary Uniter in your community to be recognized by the White House. Please email UnitedWeStand@who.eop.gov with information on a leader in your community who inspires change by building bridges and countering hate-fueled violence..

When Biden Bits was posted for Thursday, President Biden tweeted 2 times. He added 4 tweets giving him a Thursday Tweeting Total of 6 tweets and 0 retweets.

In yesterday’s article I posted in full the fact-sheet regarding the Administrations efforts regarding the Monkeypox outbreak.

Snips:

HHS to make 1.8 million doses of vaccine available for ordering beginning Monday.

Earlier this week, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) allocated and began distributing another 442,000 doses of vaccine to jurisdictions across the country. The announcement was the first allocation of vaccine following FDA’s EUA allowing for intradermal administration of the JYNNEOS vaccine, so the 442,000 doses reflect the number of total doses that could be available through intradermal administration.

Today, HHS is announcing that it has accelerated Phase 4 of its National Vaccine Strategy and will be making an additional 1.8 million doses available for ordering starting Monday, August 22. Jurisdictions that are adopting the intradermal administration of vaccine and have used 90% of their current supply of vaccine will be able to order additional doses.

The Administration is making these doses available ahead of schedule to encourage rapid distribution of vaccine to individuals at high risk of contracting the virus, particularly gay, bisexual, and other men who have sex with men. The Administration is also encouraging intradermal administration of vaccine and providing technical assistance, support, and resources to jurisdictions in the process of adopting and expanding intradermal administration.

ASPR is making 50,000 courses of TPOXX available to jurisdictions for prepositioning to facilitate timely access to TPOXX for eligible patients.

The Biden-Harris Administration will make available 50,000 patient courses of TPOXX to jurisdictions next week – nearly five times more courses than confirmed cases in the United States – to make the treatment more readily available for providers and patients. Jurisdictions will be allocated courses of TPOXX using formula based 75% on the number of cases in their jurisdiction and 25% on the number of individuals who are at the highest risk of contracting the virus, including individuals who are living with HIV or who could benefit from HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis.  This allocation is in addition to over 20,000 courses ASPR has already deployed to jurisdictions from the SNS.

Since TPOXX was approved under the FDA’s Animal Rule for the treatment of smallpox based on efficacy data in animals and safety data in healthy human volunteers –  in the absence of clinical studies in patients with MPV – it is important that this drug be used judiciously in accordance with the Expanded Access protocol and applicable treatment guidelines.

White House.gov. 08/18/2022.

According to the CDC there are 14,115 confirmed Monkeypox/orthopoxvirus cases in the U.S.. They note that one case in Florida is listed on the map, but the individual is being included in the United Kingdom case counts because that is where the individual tested positive.

It’s Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 week

President Biden: If I could tell you about one of the craziest things in Washington–is that Medicare couldn’t negotiate prices of drugs. Before pharmaceutical companies could just say what the price is going to be–and Medicare, the largest buyer of health care and prescriptions in the world, in fact, had to pay that price. People have been trying to fix that for years…

@the 20 second mark, the video switches to Twice Impeached 45 saying: Not fair. Not fair. This happens because the government pays what price the drug companies set without any negotiation whatsoever…

President Biden con’t: But we’ve always lost why? Special interest big pharma spending tens of millions of dollars telling lies about what we can’t do. Well, the good news here is that we’ve got’em beat. The Inflation Reduction Act says Medicare can negotiate and say we’re only going to pay this amount of money for your drug. It also caps out-of-pocket expenses for prescription drug prices at no more than $2,000 a year for Medicare recipients. In even caps insulin prices for Medicare recipients at $35 dollars for a month’s supply. It only costs them ten bucks to make this. It’s a game changer.

President Biden con’t: And now the last and maybe simplest thing is we try to help everybody, but Republicans on the Hill blocked it. Why the Republican caucus would support pharma and continue to the price gouging for insulin is beyond me. The voted against this whole thing. This is a loss for Big Pharma. This one is a win for the American people. For you–just another reason why this law is a big deal for families all across America.

Tiff says: He is President Joe Biden and he approved this message…

I burned a lot of my time, reading the monies in the CHIPS and Science Act bill–it’s not downloadable yet–still flashes the big warning. I struggle with the type texted…

But I did *find the fact-sheet from the White House that says: Bolster U.S. leadership in semiconductors. The CHIPS and Science Act provides $52.7 billion for American semiconductor research, development, manufacturing, and workforce development. This includes $39 billion in manufacturing incentives, including $2 billion for the legacy chips used in automobiles and defense systems, $13.2 billion in R&D and workforce development,and $500 million to provide for international information communications technology security and semiconductor supply chain activities. It also provides a 25 percent investment tax credit for capital expenses for manufacturing of semiconductors and related equipment. These incentives will secure domestic supply, create tens of thousands of good-paying, union construction jobs and thousands more high-skilled manufacturing jobs, and catalyze hundreds of billions more in private investment.

*Find =’s saved it from a long time ago, after I copied and pasted it in a different older article*

When I used Google to aid in a price breakdown I did find this morning a Forbes article from August 12th that says this; Luckily for the semiconductor industry, the $52 billion in the CHIPS and Science Act to boost domestic manufacturing and production is labeled as emergency spending, meaning that money has been fully secured. However, much of the rest of the bill’s provisions — such as creating new entities at the Department of Commerce or National Institute of Standards and Technology — will need to be appropriated by Congress.

From the not downloadable text of the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022:

The other occurrences of 15 percent being found using the “find” feature are regarding clean energy.

See above?

That brings us to Friday’s tweets…

He has tweeted 3 times so far for Friday–2 of the tweets push the already signed into law Inflation Reduction Act of 2022…

We’ve got a non-Inflation Reduction Act tweet…
