FBI and DOJ have confirmed they have arrested a suspect in connection with the recent mail bombs and announced there will be a live press conference briefing addressing the arrest and is scheduled to begin at 2:30 p.m. EDT.
As this is a very fluid story until the FBI and DOJ confirm, all information other than the FBI’s confirmation of an arrest is subject to change.
CNN is reporting at this time the alleged suspect is a 56-year-old man named Cesar Sayoc and is a resident of South Florida. He was arrested in Plantation, Broward County, Florida at a local AutoZone business close to his home residence. There are conflicting reports as to whether the alleged suspect was a customer or an employee of the business where he was arrested. It is unknown at this time if he was arrested without incidence.
As reported in TNB’s Day 4 update, the FBI has impounded the suspect’s vehicle, a white van, from the AutoZone parking lot.
